My tutor group voted although they weren't particularly interested. They were more interested in bringing food in for the food bank. Very sweet.

You won.
Now own it.
Get Brexit done by January 31st, get us a great deal, or no deal and great new trade alliances that positively impact our economy.
Get us our new nurses, our new police, our 40 new hospitals. Ensure the NHS is not sold off.
You won, you own it.
I expect you to see this through. Write to your MP, go protest every time your elected government doesn't fulfill a promise. Sign petitions. Prove to me you wanted what is best for our country. Prove to the government you expect what is best for this country.
Don't just vote for it, fight for it.
The Labour voters will.

Interesting, we like to visit Seville but would not holiday in Spain. My husband doesn’t really like the Spanish they tend to come over as rather arrogant and big brother like. He has had a couple of run ins with the Spanish here. The Portuguese like the Brits, we are their oldest ally. I don’t think the Spanish are anti Brit, they probably just don’t welcome anyone.
Change country, come here, you will be welcome. They are desperate for teachers, doctors, nurses, shop workers, waiters etc.
I have a British friend who plans on retiring to Portugal. He loves it. The Spanish situation was very sad. I've always loved Spain but it wasn't what I expected. The village I lived in was beautiful, but the friendliest people there were Muslim immigrants.
I am still determined I'd fit right in in Spain, love a siesta! x
Haha, no siesta when you're working!
Well that's ruined it ?

I can’t see the Spanish being keen on any immigrants. We do not see many Muslim people here in the Algarve however I believe there is a small amount around Lisbon. The Lisbonites do laugh at us down here for being without any culture! We do have many Germans, French, Italians and some Spanish.
It’s time to drill respect into younger society. I do see some caring youngsters but I am afraid there are not nearly enough.
An attitude like this will never get the result you expect.
Respect the youth and treat them well, and then you will earn their respect
Don’t you think that the youngsters these days have too much to say? They get their info from their phones and as we all know it’s not necessarily correct. Experience comes with age. Whilst I think we have to respect the youngsters, these days not all respect their elders. This has shown on another thread I think someone said something was circulating on social media about OK Boomers. You just would not get that type of rubbish here.
Perish the thought! ???
We are all so very wise ???
Fantastic, resounding result for Boris.
I was at the local Count and wasn't able to use my mobile inside. When I popped out to look, all I could see on Twitter was 'Con Gain'. It gave me fuel to keep going until 5 30am when our 3 marginal constituency results were announced with hugely increased Tory majorities!
Don’t you think that the youngsters these days have too much to say? No, I think it’s great. They have as much right to share their thoughts as any of us.
Where should they get their information, if not the internet?
What kind of respect should they have for older people who constantly tell them they aren’t old enough/smart enough/educated enough to have an opinion?
And what about Nicky Morgan? Is this the kind of action we can expect from now on?
Understood Summerlove.
I’ve never known a dirtier more unfairly fought election with so much information in the media.
I’d be in favour of newspapers being banned from political commenting at election times which already accurate in parts of the world.
It was hard to know what to believe to be honest.
As a result I didn’t want either a Labour or a Tory victory but knew I was going to get one of them...as a result I was always going to be a misery on Friday morning
However I will now watch and wait to see how Boris does in his promises.
He’s persuaded a lot of traditional Labour voters to give him a chance and he’s going to need to keep them happy in order to maintain their loyalty.
That alone might mean better outcomes for everybody.
They get their info from their phones and as we all know it’s not necessarily correct.
I read the party msnifestos on my phone. I watched party conference speaches on my phone. The broadsheets are on my phone.
Experience comes with age.
But wisdom doesnt necessarily correlate

The Ok Boomer thing isnt coming from youngsters.
You in the same post say that youngsters cant tell good internet information from bad. Then youtsrlf believe the internet when it tells you that kids are going around saying OK boomer all the time...
There you are people do like him.
Saturday night’s edition of the BBC’s nightly review of the following day’s newspapers featured an almost unheard-of event – a frank, unfiltered admission of Jeremy Corbyn’s massive popularity with the public.
Even more astonishingly, it also included the confession that Corbyn is ‘prime ministerial’.
So great is Corbyn’s popularity, according to the political editor Nigel Nelson, that “wherever he turns up” he is greeted like a “rock star” – and his personal qualities are so great that he is both prime ministerial [in public] and the same in private.
Corbyn’s phenomenal energy, stamina and work-rate were also covered – and as if that weren’t enough, the strength of Labour’s social care policies versus the Tories’ complete absence of any was also included.
The BBC presenter had asked “Very quickly, what’s he like engaging with the public” – leading to an instant response: “Well the public love him.”
For the video clip, see: Video: truth about Corbyn’s popularity – “public love him”, he’s PM material. How the hell did it get onto BBC? (An hour later, it didn’t) | The SKWAWKBOX

Extraordinary piece by Peter Oborne, ex Daily Mail.
How the Johnson govt debases and degrades the UK media. "From the Mail, The Times to the BBC & ITN, everyone is peddling Downing Street’s lies & smears. They’re turning their readers into dupes."

Twitter is part of the problem
People assume it relates to the real world
It does not
Notanan2
Perhaps you would enlighten me as to where the youngsters get their info.
Where OK Boomer came from?
Thanks, I do not do SOcial media.
But Coolio, I thought you knew how to fact check what you read on your phone? And it was the youngsters that don't and just repost these "facts" without understanding them... hmmm
Firstly notanan2 I do not fact check on my phone, simply because I do not have a mobile phone that can make anything other than calls. This is because it’s so expensive in this country to have mobile contracts. I felt I would explain my point of view.
I asked you to explain, sarcasm was not required, it’s the lowest form of wit.
Please now explain.
I have read other pieces on this site, so basically are you saying that what’s written on here is a load of rubbish. I read about a woman who had read a twitter site re OK boomer.
I do not have access to Uk newspapers. I do not live in the part of the Algarve where we get a daily newspaper and wouldn’t buy one anyway.
We do not get UK tv, either.
