You’re

If your xenophobic, racist, bigoted, sexist and supportive of oppressive regimes then I can I imagine he would appeal to you, yes.

Regardless of his, politics, I never could stand the man. He's always reminded me of a spivvy used car salesman.

By the way, can anyone fill me in with how much of a pension he will get from the EU, even though he was rarely there? The people I respect are MP's like Dominic Grieve who left their jobs that they had devoted their lives to on principle because they despised Johnson; ditto those Labour MP's that left the party because they didn't like the way the party was heading. They had everything to lose and nothing to gain but stood up for what they thought was right.

He’s a hideous and dangerous man if you don’t think he’s racist I can’t imagine what you must be like yourself he is xenophobic, talks about women in a vile way there’s one quote about women not being so useful to a firm if she takes long maternity leave quoting something like I ve made so many women pregnant perhaps I think differently about it
He admires Putin and says the ‘Syrian thing was excellent’ he thinks that climate change is a scam, he feels uncomfortable hearing people talking in another language he quotes Enoch Powell’s rivers of blood speech as admirable He has bragged about taking 2 million of taxpayers money in expenses
O my word I could go on and on
I remember reading about him being pulled up for singing Hitler songs when he was at school
I m the same as you Labaik I switch the radio off when I hear his voice he makes me sick to my stomach

Labaik I could not agree more- he rarely visited Brussels for meetings and was well paid for shirking.

Labaik Sun 15-Dec-19 16:41:21

He sacrificed his political career? I don't remember him ever being elected to parliament. I agree about his influence and have always said he's not the lovable jolly chap he makes himself to be but someone far more cunning and dangerous. He has been taking home a wage for being an MEP and hardly sitting in Brussels. He supports right wing groups in Europe and speaks at their rallies. He shafted the people who paid to represent his party company. He's now sucking up to Trump, yet again. If we don't mention him, maybe it's because some of us want to try to forget him, just as we walk out of the room if he's on the tv or switch the radio off when we hear his voice because he nauseates us.

Who?

growstuff Sun 15-Dec-19 16:08:26

People from ethnic minority backgrounds can be as racist as anybody else.

As for Farage … the sooner he toddles off to the US with a one-way ticket, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

You used the term 'racist' which usually refers to humans and that's what I took it to mean unless you meant something else.

inkcog Sun 15-Dec-19 15:57:20

Ok whatever you like. The numbers of what....cattle? birds? smarties?

Chestnut Sun 15-Dec-19 15:45:40

If he is a racist how come the Brexit Party has at least or possibly more diversity in its candidates than other parties? He is concerned (as are many) about numbers entering the country which has nothing to do with race.

inkcog Sun 15-Dec-19 15:42:15

He is a nasty racist who has caused untold damage.

In all the post-election threads there has been no mention of Nigel Farage so I thought I would remedy that. If nothing else, it will give the remainers a chance to vent some more bile as I know they love to hate him. But before they start tearing him to shreds just consider this.

There were many pre-election comments accusing him of self-glorification and putting himself before the country. I can’t think of anyone less deserving of that allegation. Here we have a man who worked tirelessly for 25 years towards one goal, and who effectively fell on his sword for the sake of achieving that goal. In handing his voters to the Tories on a plate he sacrificed his political career, hardly the actions of a self-serving career politician. Over the last few years, other parties have consistently stolen his policies when they realized it was what voters wanted. Consequently, he has influenced the political landscape more than anyone else and without even entering Parliament. That is an amazing achievement. I heard someone describe him as ‘the most influential politician of the post-Blair era’.

Whether you love him or hate him, that is a factual description, and I think history books of the future will probably recognize his achievements far more than we do.
