I double-checked this with my 'source', and he confirmed that it's still true. Those aquifers are very reluctant to re-fill!

Lovely day for Christmas Day. Sunny, crisp and cold. Back to the usual now though. Rain and wind. Hey Ho !!

Damp, grey and miserable out there, but at least it's still cold enough (just) to cope without my dodgy fridge. Everything is outside in insulated cool boxes, and OH keeps swapping over the ice blocks in them - one lot in the freezer to re- freeze, and freshly-frozen ones back into the cool boxes.
Quite a palaver, but better than the alternative, which would be to let it all perish.

Every cloud, and all that ...

Even so, roll on Saturday when the new fridge-freezer is due to be delivered!
