I loved the message it sent to the country. We may not have the government we wanted but all those who had a re-energized belief in British politics are still there. Solidarity!

I'm aware the usual naysayers will be on here, hurling abuse. But they don't cancel out that lovely message. If anything, they make it even more important.

Never mind, Anniebach, he'll soon be gone, all but a distant memory wink

Onwards and upwards, well backwards, one presumes, to the back benches.

Anniebach Thu 02-Jan-20 13:04:40

Couldn’t care less trisher with two son in laws who fathers
came from Ireland I learned a lot.

This isn’t about Irish history it’s about a man who wanted to be PM and wanted to break up the UK, who is anti Semitic
And
is losing his eye sight and suffering from convenient memory loss.

He is not a honest man.

trisher Thu 02-Jan-20 12:19:22

I will say he RUC were such a corrupt police force and the corruption was so deep and at every level that it was considered impossible to reform and had to be closed down.

trisher Thu 02-Jan-20 12:16:47

Well when we're out the EU we'll probably be out of Ireland too, so that will be solved.
Annie as your grasp of Irish history is slight and biased I won't discuss it with you.

Anniebach Thu 02-Jan-20 11:54:40

And believes in carry a black wreath to No.10 in tribute to a man killed by the RUC in 1983 and campaigning for
‘British out of Ireland’ .

But no carrying a wreath for anyone killed by the IRA

trisher Thu 02-Jan-20 11:30:14

let's list what might be regarded as faults then shall we
Corbyn
Believes in Peace- (we are currently fighting a dirty proxy war in Yemen)
Believes in talking even to terrorists -(S. Africa, Israel, Eire-all counries founded on terrorism)
Wants equality-
Wants a green agenda
Wants Israel to withdraw from occupied territories.
What I see are actually policies and ideas that would have moved the UK out of the accepted role and furnished us with more hope for ordinary people. He would of course have substantially diminished the role of the rich and powerful. It couldn't be allowed to happen could it?

In my opinion I feel that Jeremy Corbyn has become more like a leader of a "cult" than a political party. Some of his "disciples" are quick to blame anyone and anything other than acknowledge he has faults.

At least as a Conservative I acknowledge that the PM has many faults.

janipat Thu 02-Jan-20 10:49:19

Good grief, and Boris Johnson supporters (one of which I'm most definitely NOT) are accused of worship. Not once in the chanting do I hear "Jeremy Corbyn", just oh oh oh oh oh, played during the football anthem section. Still if it feeds some egos..........

Callistemon Thu 02-Jan-20 10:36:59

Well, we're not shocked, are we Anniebach!
But some seem still to have a sense of disbelief.

Unfortunately, yes, it is true.
Labour got a drubbing and it was due to Corbyn.
They are going to have a new leader.

A few may still think Corbyn is the answer but he is not.
Well, I suppose one could say he was the answer to many who were wondering whether they should stick with their usual Labour vote:
Should I vote Labour?
No, not while Corbyn is in charge.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-Jan-20 10:32:26

Jeremy Corbyn has lost three consecutive elections, the last one handed the Conservative Party a majority of 80.

Why would anybody think he is/was a great leader?

Oopsminty Thu 02-Jan-20 10:28:39

Yes, Callistemon

Euro 2020 I believe. I'm not a fan either.

They played a couple of football songs.

It's Coming Home being another

It hasn't 'come home' for many a year but the optimistic can hope!

GagaJo Thu 02-Jan-20 10:24:55

REALLY Anniebach? What a shock.

Talk about the sublime and the ridiculous.

Anniebach Thu 02-Jan-20 10:23:53

Corbyn is out

GagaJo Thu 02-Jan-20 10:16:19

I love it Grany. Puts a happy smile on my face. We may be down but we're not out! London remembers.

My daughter was out wearing her Corbyn sweatshirt yesterday in Northumberland. SO many positive comments from total strangers (they're a friendly bunch, Geordies).

lemongrove Thu 02-Jan-20 10:13:25

?

Callistemon Thu 02-Jan-20 10:07:43

Oh yes, there was something about football, is there something happening this year?
Passed over the top of my head a bit but I did hear something about it.

I fail to understand what Corbyn has to do with NYE and the London fireworks.
Surely they are not looking for another guy to put on a bonfire, we're more civilised than that these days.

Oopsminty Thu 02-Jan-20 08:47:37

Smiles

Grany Thu 02-Jan-20 08:46:04

Whatever

Oopsminty Thu 02-Jan-20 08:42:02

My son and his wife attended the fireworks. Clearly the chanting of Corbyn's name didn't reach the area where they were standing.

He did point out though that many of the viewers were chanting. But not Jeremy's name. Seven Nation Army is a football anthem.

If you google it you'll hear it being chanted in stadiums.

I suppose your average Twitter user would say that it was a chant for Jeremy.

As long as it makes people happy.

Grany Thu 02-Jan-20 08:26:40

BlueSapphire Can you hear this?

Best part of the fireworks

OH JEREMY CORBYN #LondonNYE

BlueSapphire Thu 02-Jan-20 07:27:35

I was so concerned that my hearing might be going, so I played the London fireworks again on catch-up and still didn't hear any chanting...

notanan2 Wed 01-Jan-20 22:59:06

Wasn't it £10 a ticket too?

notanan2 Wed 01-Jan-20 22:54:09

Chanting O JC isn't really doing any grass roots socialism though is it?

Nor does it demonstrate any real will to do so.

Urmstongran Wed 01-Jan-20 22:50:22

Classy.

Callistemon Wed 01-Jan-20 22:49:38
