It's an interesting topic, Corbyn and Peace Prizes.

The UK Gandhi Foundation Peace Prize, not be confused with the more prestigious International Indian Government Gandhi Peace Prize was indeed given to Corbyn in 2013.

That was before he became Labour Leader and could be called a principled/conviction politician who was opposed to Trident.

As Labour Leader he stated Labour was 'committed ' to Trident. Principled /conviction politicians are all the same when wanting to obtain power and Corbyn was no different to any other. Of course there has been the absurdity of whether or not he would protect the country if required by using Trident but that is another question we will never know the answer to.

It could be the case Corbyn if elected overruled all others and indeed scrapped Trident once in power but he would have done so by deceiving the voter both in personal and by what the Labour Manifesto stated.

Well, he’s a pacifist of course ( although some say he would talk people to death)?
A pacifist and one man protest party, but not suitable to be PM.

Established in 1992, the Seán MacBride Peace Prize is awarded by the International Peace Bureau to a person or organisation that "has done outstanding work for peace, disarmament and/or human rights."

I wonder what they think of Corbyn stating now he would keep ''Trident' after opposing it's mere being whilst getting the award?

The work remains POGS it hasn't disappeared. He may have bowed to party pressure (and isn't it funny how he is criticised for doing that and for not doing it!) but his speeches and his peace work will continue. The problem is that the powerful people who make vast profits from arms dealing would see him as a real threat

I thought I heard it, can't say for definite whether it was Oh Jeremy Cornyn or whether they were singing the words of the actual song but even if they were singing JC it's not really surprising considering there would have been 1000's of Londoners there (majority being Labour supporters) plus Sadiq Khan would have deliberately chose that song in order to get that response

As for singing ' Oh Jeremy Corbyn' I only hear the crowd chanting '' oh, oh, oh, oh, oh ' which is widely chanted at sports events based on the White Stripes song ' Seven Nation Army '. The chant ' Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh ' is used at sporting events in various countries. It has been chanted for years, way before Corbyn became Leader in 2015.

At one stage in the firework display on New Year's Eve the fireworks were coordinated with popular sporting songs of which the White Stripes was one of the songs being played. Because it is a well known chant in many countries it therefore follows it be would be widely known by the crowd of various nationalities no doubt attending the London New Year celebration.

It is true to say the ' Oh Jeremy Corbyn' chant was lifted from the White Stripes, Seven Nation Army song.
