Australian wild fires, are the airports operating. ?

My goddaughter lives In Sydney with two tiny boys. She is still in her house but has no power. She is ten minute car ride to the beach but roads are closed. Her parents are beside themselves with worry. Has anyone else got relatives or friends who are there and how are they faring.? Can anyone get to the airports to catch a flight out of the hell they are in??
