Yes, decent human beings shouldn’t make money out of theit royal connections on one hand whilst shunning their toxicity on the other.

I wouldn’t have thought TM would need specific advice not to share private letters or shaft his daughter to the press. Surely that just comes under being a decent human being.

All that has actually happened over the last week suziewoozie is that people have expressed different opinions from yours on H&Ms behaviour.

In fairness to Mr Markle, they didn’t visit him , no introduction to his future son in law . The photographs of him at the tailors was unfortunate but the man had worked in
Hollywood, not the real world. There was no one to advise him.

I know Nezumi65, I also wonder why she hadn't visited her father before the wedding. I do think she and the royal family should have prepared him and shielded him from the inevitable press intrusion; leaving him on his own was a disaster waiting to happen.

If she was on good terms with her father when getting hitched why hadn’t she seen him before? As for the Torygraph - that paper has become a populist embarrassment over the last few years. I frequently come across Torygraph articles that leave me with my jaw on the floor (on all manner of subjects).

I suppose her and Wallace Simpson share nationality. Enough of a reason to be suspicious of them ?

SirC I’ve made a very rational inference , from all the many comments over the last week. All the MHers just always agree with anyone (no matter what toe rags they are elsewhere) who criticises MM. No sign of any critical faculties in play at all.

Very interesting article in Saturday Telegraph comparing H&M to Wallis and Edward. I hope H can make a life for himself and not be dragged around after M.

Nezumi65 - well, when Meghan announced she was getting married, she was obviously still on good terms with her father (or she wouldn't have chosen him to give her away). Perhaps if Meghan had done the usual thing and visited him to introduce her fiance to him, and then got him some royal protection, perhaps things would have turned out better. He appeared to have been left to fend for himself amid all the media hype. Yes, he acted foolishly, but the poor man ended up having a heart attack - surely she could have found it in her heart to at least visit him (after the wedding) to try and clear things up.

Well I find it extraordinary that anyone would view TM as anything other than a money grabbing bastard but seems there are some who see him as some sort of wronged perfect father.

Can you point to where anyone on here who has criticised the behaviour of M &H has said anything of the sort? Or has your imagination come up with that all by itself?

You have to admit Jaycee - there are very few people from her family or exes or past friends lining up to speak positively about her, and her guest list was very light. Her recollections of her father and what he paid for also seems hazy.

Ah thanks Jaycee. Someone on another thread said the thing she had done wrong (in other people’s eyes) was distancing himself from her father and I couldn’t quite believe it (given how unpleasant his behaviour has been). Seems that’s where some of the blame has landed. Bizarre.

Her mum does appear to be lovely. So at least she has one supportive parent.

pinkquartz You have no idea why Thomas Markle showed the letter or how much he was paid for doing so.

In fact, just about all you do know about Meghan is via "old friends" and family, whose "revelations" are undoubtedly worth something financially, or the media, which has an axe to grind as a result of the court cases and sells copies to celeb-gossip-hungry public.

Given the way he’s behaved she presumably had very good reason to distance herself. He managed to bankrupt himself after a 750k lottery win so doesn’t seem the most stable of fellows.

Her mother hasn’t turned against her. Her fathers family has including her thoroughly unpleasant sister. Maybe that has more to do with it. Poor woman can’t choose her family. The people I know who have cut ties with parents have all had very good reason to do so. Given his behaviour since she cut ties it would seem she also had very good reason to do so.

He’s a vile man who is willing to sell his daughter to the sharks of Fleet Street. I don’t give two hoots about the royal family but find the way she has been vilified revolting. It isn’t THAT difficult to not sell your story. Even if you feel you have been badly treated a decent person would not be acting the way he is.
