Harry & Megan drop HRH Titles

I think that they have agreed to drop the HRH titles from April, as there would have been too many conditions to making money while holding the title.
They are also, apparently, going to repay the £2.4m of taxpayers money spent on Frogmore.
So, it looks like neither of them will be back to the UK very often at all.
I think that this is the right decision, do you?

BTW, did anyone else see Camilla's brief response when she was asked by a reporter if they'd miss Harry?

There was an audible 'Hmmmmm' as she walked by before turning back to the camera and adding, 'Of course!'

Brilliant! grin

I don't need to give examples myself, Annie. Reports go back a long long way.

I'm sure you've read biographies and watched documentaries.

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 10:17:33

merlot you claimed Windsor men are petulant and use to
getting their own way . Examples ?

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-20 10:17:30

grin Maw

Sorry, SPelling correction....correspondent.

westendgirl Tue 21-Jan-20 10:15:51

I was just pointing out that Tom Bradby was not the Royal Corespondent of the Times.Couldn't say about the Mail, not a paper I read.

MawB Tue 21-Jan-20 10:15:01

“Let’s release a nice fluffy picture of Meghan with Archie and the dogs. What could possibly go wrong?” grin

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-20 10:09:36

I was wondering who took the photo as well. It's definitely not 'intrusive.' It might be Meghan's last chance of a camera opportunity before Harry arrives and starts moaning about 'hounding' and 'keeping his family safe.'

Windsor men are petulant and used to getting their own way. Prince Charles was jealous of Diana and all the attention she attracted. I think Harry's in for a shock if he expects Meghan to stay out of the limelight.

Harry has arrived with his own security detail and Meghan also has a protection team (from Britain) so is one relieving the other or will we be paying for extra?

vegansrock Tue 21-Jan-20 10:07:58

No bias in the Daily Mail or other rags then?

westendgirl Tue 21-Jan-20 10:06:22

Vegansrock, I think you will find that Tom Bradby presents ITV news, is a close friend of the couple, (he was close enough to be invited to the wedding ) .He is a journalist and novelist and I think he was on the South Africa trip. The Times Royal Correspondent is Roya Nikkah so I do think you should be aware of bias.

Apparently she called the paps, the one she always uses - sorry can't remember the name - to arrange the photoshoot.

Interesting for all they said the media here had intruded on their privacy we never saw any photos like this. The only photos we saw were when they were in public.

sparkii Tue 21-Jan-20 09:52:27

Perhaps we should save our concern for child prostitutes, people living in drain pipes, people who have been tortured and come to the UK to live in infested shit holes and so on.

PernillaVanilla Tue 21-Jan-20 09:43:33

The poor little chap can't see where he is going, and looks very uncomfortable, he would be much better off in a back carrier at that age or an all terrain buggy.

sparkii Tue 21-Jan-20 09:35:17

She looks great and so happy to be free of those ridiculous outfits and angst about tights. Good for her and good for him. Bet they are brilliant company.

Buffybee Tue 21-Jan-20 09:24:36

She does seem to be struggling a bit with the harness and Archie looks quite a big baby now and seems to be sliding out of it.
I could never get the hang of those front harnesses myself, unless the baby is tiny, they don't seem to work very well.
She might have been better with Archie in a pram, especially with having two dogs on leads but at least she looks happy.
I hope the family can work it all out and are able to make a living without bringing the Royal family into disrepute.

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 09:24:05

I agree Sparklefizz , Harry would know William was hosting
his first official banquet yesterday evening.

Sparklefizz Tue 21-Jan-20 09:21:20

Anything to steal William and Kate's attention, methinks.

Washerwoman Tue 21-Jan-20 09:15:49

My first thought as someone who walks dogs regularly with a baby the same age and size as Archie was don't they have a back carrier?Far safer and leaves you free to hold leads a,bag up poo etc.My DGC is way to heavy and wiggly for a front harness.Only saying as a keen dog walker /grandparent on duty.
Wether or not it's about privacy I'm also struggling to see why for 6 weeks of the Xmas sabbatical there was not one photo bar the one of PH and A on Instagram. Now 4 photos in a week. And yet again coincidence or not that just as pics are shown of K+W at royal engagements.Again only an observation.Maybe MM saying stuff you I'm ok.Fair enough if that's her way but I really wish the DM wouldn't even print the pics of them now.

Nezumi65

The only evidence is with my own eyes, looking at the pictures. Most of them are taken quite close up, and Meghan looks at the camera quite a lot, so I assume, wrongly perhaps, that she knew they were being taken.
Don’t understand what you are on about re nanny bonding with baby, her barely holding baby whatever.
Archie looks sprawled out in his harness, but I pointed out he could well be asleep, and as he is nearly 9 months old, no longer a neat, tiny little baby, is probably heavy. Plus holding two dogs on leads, all contributes to a rather ungainly picture.

Nezumi65 Tue 21-Jan-20 08:09:02

And your evidence calendargirl? A few photos taken of her walking her dogs near her house. You have no idea who took them. But suddenly she must barely hold her baby, she’s arranged it, must have a nanny who does all the bonding with Archie.

Reminds me of the mean girls at school whispering behind their hands at someone who has dared to be prettier than them. (Not me, I’m a right moose).

Calendargirl Tue 21-Jan-20 07:57:34

With respect Nezumi65, rubbish.

Nezumi65 Tue 21-Jan-20 07:55:38

And you all wonder why they have upped sticks? Take a look at yourselves.

Nezumi65 Tue 21-Jan-20 07:54:56

Royal Protection Officer need their hands free. That’s the point of them. They’re not able to protect you if they’re holding things.

And no I don’t think they’re staged. I think someone was paid a lot of money to invade her privacy.

Calendargirl Tue 21-Jan-20 07:53:09

Yes Curlywhirly certainly no random pap picture. Meghan grinning at the camera, obv taken by Team Meghan.

Nezumi65 Tue 21-Jan-20 07:52:53

He’s quite big for a front carrier, the strap has fallen off one shoulder & she is holding two dogs. Photographs are taken over a short distance.

No need to suggest she isn’t used to holding her own baby. I used slings a lot & found front slings hard to manage - slipping down babies tends to be a feature ime - & somewhere along the line I discovered getting them onto my back ASAP was the solution if I actually wanted to do something. If someone has spotted me getting in a sloppy mess with a front sling (& plenty did) they wouldn’t have assumed I didn’t ever lift my baby hmm How unpleasant.
