I think you're right Phloembundle. I think it won't be long before Prince Harry returns, alone, with his tail between his legs.

I think that they have agreed to drop the HRH titles from April, as there would have been too many conditions to making money while holding the title.
They are also, apparently, going to repay the £2.4m of taxpayers money spent on Frogmore.
So, it looks like neither of them will be back to the UK very often at all.
I think that this is the right decision, do you?
I think you're right Phloembundle. I think it won't be long before Prince Harry returns, alone, with his tail between his legs.
Will he leave his son ?
Good lord! - hark at all this! Predicting their divorce with such inappropriate relish!
I'm happy for them but I hope it doesn't all end in tears before bedtime...........
I am shocked and saddened at the comments on gransnet.
Are we not all grandparents on here.
How would you feel if this was your grandchild suffering this disgraceful behaviour by the media and everyone having their say about two people, you cannot possibly know what’s gone on in their lives.
There’s a little boy out there who one day will be grown up and read the disgusting things said about his family how will he feel, god help him.
I not interested in hearing about their money and privileges etc they are still just two people, who have been castigated by all and sundry.Their wealth and privilege does not entitle people who aren’t/are wealthy and privileged to try and ruin their lives.
Well said, grannie7. Not all Gransnetters relish reading about or commenting on the perceived misfortunes of others. How can people derive pleasure from being unkind? I am not such a person, for which I am thankful.
I agree grannie7
Grannie7, never mind the GN posters, you should be more 'shocked and saddened' at what old Thomas said. He is family! He is her father! See my post Sun 19-Jan-20 09:57:51
Did any one see the video where she actually jokes ‘we’re here to pitch’ to the Disney execs? Hilarious!
So to avoid the torture of flashing cameras he is entering the
world stage
I think you’ll find Jura2 the Disney exec videos come after the poor us ones.....
So let me get this straight. People don’t want her working (voiceovers are work), but also don’t want her taking money from the taxpayer. Interesting.
They are planning on carrying on their charitable work.’
Seems they can’t win. That video shows how much Diana struggled as well. No wonder he wants out.
Personally I don’t really care how they earn their money - it’s enough that they want to become financially independent. Better than turning into Princess Margaret surely?
Anniebach
Don't forget Princess Alexandra
Prince William advised Prince Harry against a short engagement to Megan. With hind sight do you think he was probably correct ?
Well said Granny7 very well said. I am astonished at the unkind, “let’s cut them down to size” comments - I guess there may be some well founded republicanism - but I wonder if envy may be involved or maybe the opposite, a cocktail of royalty enthusiasm, mixed with intrusive celeb curiosity? I am astonished at the commentary about this couple. He was born into his lot, she acted her way into it. I don’t envy their lots, (although a few more resources wouldn’t go amiss in my now old age). But why am I surprised?
Christal - he definitely was correct! He knew his own parents married too quickly without knowing each other well, which is why he made sure Catherine was well aware over many years of what was expected. The same could be said of Charles & Camilla - she knew she was there as the support act not the star attraction. When two people in a relationship want to be top dog there will be problems.
Much respect to both of them to decide to live their own lives away from all the glare. But think they are a big loss to U.K. in terms of building image abroad, charity work, etc. Brexit and Megxit are both lose lose, in my opinion, for this increasingly strange country that I live in.
I think he may have to return anyway as he isn't a Canadian citizen, so must have a visitors visa, after all he's not royal now is he? The Queen has played a blinder and it can all be reviewed in a year.
But they are not going to live their lives aware from the glare,
they are moving in the direction of more glare.
I think their website needs to be rebranded now and shouldn't be called Sussex Royal. Yes, it's good they are going to earn their own money but it cannot and shouldn't be off the back of the (former ) royal connections they claim to not want to be a part of any longer, and extra security costs, over and above what it would cost in this country, should be met by themselves as they have chosen to live abroad.
In general, the media has given them a hard time because of their behaviour and double standards. Telling people how to behave and doing the opposite themselves - saying it's important to save the planet while racking up their own personal air miles by using private jets, a one day jaunt to the USA to watch a tennis match, the baby shower etc.
It also looks to me like some of their charitable works are just there to provide a photo opportunity. It was reported that Meghan's visit to the Canadian women's refuge was actually just to the main office to see the staff and that she was given an expensive necklace. Why would she accept something like that? She could have asked them to auction it off, why was she even given it in the first place when she has millions of pounds/dollars to buy her own jewellery
Of course, these reports may or may not be true but one true fact is that she had managed to alienate everyone in her family except for her mother- and there has been some problems there in the past too as she lived with her father for a while-and now Harry has been encouraged to alienate himself from his family. Yes, he is capable of making his own mind up about things, I understand that, but think it is very sad that the Queen seems only to have seen Archie a few times and may never see him again before she dies.
Isn't that the same situation that many of you on here, sadly, write in about. It seems they had been planning this escape for a long time so would it have hurt them to have spent one last summer holiday and Christmas with their English side of the family. The majority of people in the UK wanted Harry to find someone to give him happiness but I really don't think he has. That is just my personal opinion.
I agree with your post quizqueen but he may have found
happiness , Megan is ‘doing a Diana’, he has married his mother poor man.
Totally agree quizqueen, I feel very sad for Harry as he was always so desperate for a wife, question is has he chose bad? Also if they want to go so desperately to make a new life away from the royal family I personally think they should go away as Mr & Mrs and certainly NOT Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They have no real right to keep the Sussex title as I doubt they will ever visit Sussex again! I think Harry should keep the title Prince Harry for when he is in the U.K. and Meghan should be Mrs Mountbatten-Windsor only, they should not be allowed to make money on the back of being duke & duchess of Sussex because basically they are not that now! The Queen has rightly taken their HRH of them and she should remove their other title with immediate effect. They shouldn’t have had a huge wedding as she was a divorcee at the taxpayers expense. I’ve always loved Harry but he’s a typical young man in his mid thirties, he’s found a woman he’s besotted with and he’s turned weak. I feel very sorry for the queen and William & Kate who have now all got to take up the slack of royal duties, especially now Philip is too old and Andrew has ‘retired’.
Chrisdal, on the other hand I'd not have wanted them waiting too long knowing that Meghan was in her mid to late 30s and how badly Harry wanted to be a dad.
Everything that is being done is because the Queen's sense of duty leads her to preserve the Monarchy. She will remember the reactions and actions of her granny Queen Mary and certainly her mother Queen Elizabeth and her actions with regard to Mrs Simpson. Harry will begin to realise a door is slowly closing I really hope he has the right lady by his side.
