Why do you appreciate "a lot of them will now want to venture further than Dover" Reddevil. If we have to obtain a different driving permit for each European country we want to visit, then that's what we'll do.

I wonder if the loss of ´freedom of movement’ in the EU has been understood by the Brexiteers? If they want to travel through Europe, they will need different driving permits for each country. Now I appreciate that a lot of them will not want to venture further than Dover, but I haven’t read any posts which address this point.

Forget about xenophobia, I did not make the accusation and I am not bothered. But it is cumulative and similar comments have been made again and again, by different posters, for years.

It is not because UG can't be bothered to post facts and advice from experts in the field- it is because they do not exist. Simple, and you know that. Yes, we may, get a deal that will prevent problems with medicines and isotopes- but as Johnson is clearly choosing to say 'no alignment of any sort' - it does not bode well. Crystal ball? No I havent' got one, and never have you - but I DO rely on experts in the field, and they are VERY concerned indeed.

If someone makes statements they cannot back - they should think twice before posting them.

We will never be able to combat racism and xenophobia unless people recognise it when it happens.

We all know why no-one is coming forwards with information which states that access to medicines and cancer treating isotopes, post Brexit transition period or as soon as Boris (and I am sure it is his actual plan) goes for No Deal - will not be a real problem - and that is because it DOES NOT EXIST. Very simple.

I wasn't criticising you, Callistomen, nor would I want your perfectly reasonable post deleted.

I just think that it shouldn't be necessary to have to explain posters' 'credentials' for posting. As a 'newbie' ENO should have found out a bit more before launching xenophobic remarks.

Oh I don't mind. Yes, British since 1973, and married to a Brit, with British chidren and grandchildren ...didn't come to live in Switzerland as tax exiles, for sure- just happened to be where my parents needed help just after we retired- after lifelong work for NHS and State Edu- and we stayed.

and we won't need to come back for healthcare either- the Swiss system more than adequate ;). Totally beside the point.

If you state that expert advice said that there will be no problem with medicine imports and isotopes for cancer treatment- you really have to be able to back it up with fact.

BTW recent research shows that more than 80% of claims made by the Conservative Party during Brexit and election campaign were lies.

Everyone in my family is about to become a dual national (except me, I can’t). At least our kids will have the chance to get their families out if they choose.

ExperiencedNotOld I hope jura won't mind me explaining that she has dual nationality, Swiss by birth, British by adoption and currently lives in Switzerland.

Dual nationality can be very useful at times and especially at the moment; some of my family are dual nationals.
