Hubby and I have just got back from Parliament Square celebrations (stayed longer than planned as the atmosphere was electric!) - We all made so many new friends (both leavers and remainers) - Hellllllo to the "Backing Singers"! grin And Tenby Angels Helllooo - Hopefully we will see some new members joining GN. (I've warned them about the welcoming committee, don't worry). wink
There is definitely a wonderfully, optimistic buzz in the UK!
I love this British wave of positivity.
Reminds me of the Berlin Wall coming down.

ananimous - the official government advice for a shortage of epilepsy meds is to brand swap. YOU CANNOT SAFELY BRAND SWAP EPILEPSY MEDS

I don’t know how to make that more simple to understand.

If Johnson manages a deal the supply will be less likely to be affected than in the event of no deal. But currently we have no way of knowing. If you don’t have to worry about it lucky for you.

BTW there are lots of meds that cannot be stockpiled. I’m just relieved my son is no longer on liquid only meds as they were always having interrupted supplies because of short shelf lives. You can’t stockpile isotopes used for cancer treatment either

No meds issue.

Dollymac Sat 01-Feb-20 23:21:51

Wow, so much vitriol, so much xenophobia
So much fucking ignorance

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 23:19:59

Interesting...do you have a link to this key anthropological research?

Callistemon Sat 01-Feb-20 23:13:15

Thin ice
I think you need to do more anthropological research.

paddyanne Sat 01-Feb-20 23:12:06

Will you please excuse me but HOW can you be Independent when you are still part of the "United kingdom" THAT is a union (for now) so you are legally tied to 3 other nations at least one of which wants out .As witnessed across Scotland we would much rather be a part of the EU who only apply 5% of rules /laws instead of Westminster who have around 80% of powers over us .

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 23:09:41

I know exactly who’s on one tonight with her dence comment smile

growstuff Sat 01-Feb-20 23:08:50

You really are out of your depth ananimous. Of course there are meds issues, not only with supply of common drugs. I'm too tired and have other things to do before I go to bed, so I'm not going to write an essay. However, pharma is an important component of the British economy (much more important than fishing) and is really facing some serious problems.

PS. Prosecco is still cheap (so I've heard), so take advantage of it while you can.

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 23:07:08

Vegans.....is that a pic of Ed Balls that you posted upthread?
He seems to be everywhere these days.?

ananimous Sat 01-Feb-20 23:05:48

Sir

Careful mis-spelling dagger like that you-know-who-is-on one tonight.?

vegansrock Sat 01-Feb-20 23:05:01

A knuckle dragger was supposed to be a caveman or a primitive human not an ape.

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 23:02:42

Dragger

Well it does give you something to occupy yourself ?

Cen yew perlees stic arownd inn cass wee kneed ewe.

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 23:02:32

A knuckle dragged means a stupid or loutish man these days.

vegansrock Sat 01-Feb-20 23:02:17

I doubt there were many people of colour at a Brexit event.

vegansrock Sat 01-Feb-20 23:01:22

Of course selective bias exists - but if drunken tattooed men were shouting and singing obscenities whilst climbing over Churchill’s statue at a Brexit event whilst being cheered on by similar others how would you interpret it?

Callistemon Sat 01-Feb-20 23:00:26

As the term knuckle draggers alludes to certain primates which walk upright with knuckles nearly touching the ground, I hope that there were no persons of colour present as that could then be considered to be a racist remark which you repeated, vegansrock.
Ask Alistair Stewart

Of course, referring to white people as knuckle draggers is, presumably, not in any way considered offensive.

Amazing. I thought the Independent was supposed to be just that - independent.

I in no way endorse the behaviour of someone who is behaving in a loutish fashion.

ananimous Sat 01-Feb-20 22:59:29

Still no meds issue

MawB Sat 01-Feb-20 22:59:12

Independance Day. (sic)
Oh dear - no, my soirree was a complete mix of both voters and we were all getting along famously

Now we that we are no longer part of the EU I suppose ananimous feels no need to spell soirée correctly either.

growstuff Sat 01-Feb-20 22:58:31

I guess she's fine, as long as her supplier (of whatever she's on) doesn't have problems.

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 22:57:46

It’s just a bump in the road - until it becomes an issue for her and her family

growstuff Sat 01-Feb-20 22:57:17

Jeez!
