I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

Yes well said Washerwoman Meghan does a disservice to the empowerment of women, and to women in general.

?

I agree Smileless. Those patronising messages written on bananas. If I'd been a "working girl" who was given one of those, I'd have wanted to tell her where to put it. She is deluded about her feminist principles and influence.

When she and Harry were in Africa, where girls were learning boxing in order to protect themselves from rape, all she could talk about was how no one had asked if ^she was ok. She could have said/done so much, instead of which she said/did so little.

It was toe curling wasn't it Sparklefizz, all about her and she seems to conveniently disregard using the name of the family she's married into, and the title she was given to further her own prospects.

She even lied about working her way through college. Her father paid for that.

Empowerment of women ?

Marrying a film director then getting a role in a tv series,

Marrying a royal prince then getting a title and a spot on the
world stage

Getting a luxury home in Canada and financially supported by
her father in law.

Smileless2012 Sat 07-Mar-20 20:11:37

If it wasn't so tragic it would be mildly amusing.

Sparklefizz Sat 07-Mar-20 20:39:44

Absolutely. M & H have missed a wonderful opportunity to really make a difference and do good in the world..... but clearly their true desires are different. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

Sparklefizz Sat 07-Mar-20 20:43:38

Yet again they didn't seem to mind all the cameras clicking and flashbulbs flashing away at the event they were all dressed up for this evening!!

They made a stunning couple, but I can't stand the hypocrisy and downright untruths.

Smileless2012 Sat 07-Mar-20 20:45:08

Me neither, can't stand to see them TBH.

Eglantine21 Sat 07-Mar-20 20:45:34

Oh, she’s a living example of power!

Don’t you think the lip plumping makes her look a bit like a Julia Roberts when she smiles?

Ellianne Sat 07-Mar-20 21:28:33

You're right Eglantine and tonight's dress was was very much like the one worn in Pretty Woman.

annsixty Sat 07-Mar-20 21:33:10

To not let the GP's see Archie says it all for me.

Anniebach Sat 07-Mar-20 21:40:11

And let’s not forget the Spencer family, their dead sister’s
grandchild.

Charles absolutely loves and adores Camilla so (in my humble opinion) he will be livid that Meghan upstaged Camilla's very important message.

lilypollen Sat 07-Mar-20 23:23:24

Nothing to do with our Royal family and what they do so putting themelves in the same bracket as Clooneys, Kardashians, Jolies, Winfrey, pay for your own security end of.

Grandmafrench Sat 07-Mar-20 23:35:54

Really can't wait for them to just go, to start their great new independent (financial?) life and how is a totally lost Harry going to fare amongst the hard-faced "celebrities" of Tinsel Town. His Wife was never successful there. And what can he do to earn the sort of living standards to which she would love to become accustomed? His lifestyle to date is unique, apart from the Army, no work experience, no adult life experience really. He has swiftly managed to become estranged from his family, so many friends, his brother, what can he talk about and to whom? Some of his recent actions have been nothing short of cold-hearted and disrespectful, especially to his Grandmother. Is he forever to trail in the wake of his self-obsessed Wife who just gallops on to the next crazy plan, nothing assessed, nothing properly considered or planned. Nothing appears genuine. Disaster follows disaster. They'll probably find only too quickly that far away from the "royal" umbrella his importance is already dimming. Far too many real world distractions to keep their faces centre stage. He must be so regretting it already, Romeo and Juliet they are not. sad

Apologies if this has already been mentioned Gransnetters.
The RCMP in Canada have been providing security for Harry and family since November. However the Federal Government will stop funding this at the end of March.

I am shocked by the nasty comments on this thread.

Jane10 Sun 08-Mar-20 06:21:00

I'm shocked that they were given a standing ovation last night.

vegansrock Sun 08-Mar-20 06:26:55

I’m pleased they were given a standing ovation. They looked stunning.

vegansrock Sun 08-Mar-20 06:28:07

Just shows not everyone is is mean and bitchy as some on here. Harry got 3 cheers as well.

eazybee Sun 08-Mar-20 07:34:08

There are always those who will applaud those they consider to have mocked authority.

Jane10 Sun 08-Mar-20 08:04:08

Do you deserve applause for looking 'stunning'?
