I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 08:27:10

Perhaps the applause was for turning up in spite of the bile and viciousness being throw at them on "social" media. No one deserves what is being heaped upon them.

I just wonder why those of you who are doing this are telling your thoughts to me, other members, and even those just looking in? I don't wish to be involved but have little choice but to be seen as guilt by association with you because I have chosen to be a member of a forum that behaves in this way. Why not contact them to discuss your "opinion", after all that is the only thing that would have a possibility of creating change.

I think this is one of the most uncomfortable threads I have seen on GN.

He is Captain General, the Queen gave him this honour only
3 years ago when Phillip retired. Now he is walking away from
them too. The Captain General always gets three cheers,

I thought her red outfit vulgar, the only a couple should wear matching colours is at a funeral when wearing black.

GGMK3
I don't wish to be involved but have little choice but to be seen as guilt by association with you because I have chosen to be a member of a forum that behaves in this way.

Was that meant to be ironic? Most people find it easy enough to ignore threads that have no relevance to them^.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 08:59:27

You are broadcasting this filth to the world GrannyLaine. Anyone can read it and all members will be judged by it. Why do members need to share these grubby views with anyone and everyone?

grannypiper Sun 08-Mar-20 09:01:46

The "walking in the rain" photo will be the one that will be used time and time again when their departure is talked about in the media but the photo that will stay with me is one in today DM(online), they are back in the car just about to be driven away for the Royal Albert Hall, the hate on her face shows her true colours, Harry looks like a scolded child

mokryna Sun 08-Mar-20 09:02:05

The press only buy photos they think will encourage sales, enough said?

Anniebach Sun 08-Mar-20 09:02:16

Good grief, Megan has called on men to value the women in
their lives !

Eglantine21 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:07:51

Oh I’m pretty sure she’s aware of his value, Annie!

GGMK3 didn’t you have a post removed a couple of days ago because it was so nasty! Briadcasting filth that anyone could read maybe?

SirChenjin Sun 08-Mar-20 09:08:47

Where would we all be without Meghan’s words of wisdom?

Smileless2012 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:12:02

Just seen it and almost chocked on mybrew!! She could start by doing so herself; value her H's. GM and respect his step mother by not over shadowing her speech on domestic violence.

Ellianne Sun 08-Mar-20 09:21:26

The walking in the rain photo was taken by Meghan's private photographer so was probably well rehearsed. The one in the car was taken by paparazzi and tells a different story. This reminds me of the Diana photos looking fit leaving the gym which were obviously staged then showing a snarky face at an airport later. It works both ways though MM is probably of stronger stuff and won't care.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:30:10

Not that I know of Eglantine21. I haven't been on a lot recently. Perhaps you could remind me what it was. I have no idea.

Sparklefizz Sun 08-Mar-20 09:31:00

The photo taken of them in the car says it all. No hand-holding there or lovey-dovey glances, and H looks on the edge of tears. Such a shame.

GrannyLaine Sun 08-Mar-20 09:33:52

@GGMK3

You are broadcasting this filth to the world GrannyLaine

Excuse me? That was my one and only comment on this thread. Are you confusing me with someone else?

Eglantine21 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:40:40

Oh you know GG3. When janipat wrote something you didn’t like and you responded with a vicious personal comment, I questioned then why hers was removed and you were allowed to say things that were much worse.

But it turns out yours was so nasty it got removed too. Quite quickly.

I think you just like to wind us up.........

SirChenjin Sun 08-Mar-20 09:46:52

I remember that thread - it was hardly ‘filth’ confused

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:47:22

That was in reply to your comment that people don't need to read the threads. That is true, of course, but everyone, member or not, can read them and judge all GN members by them GrannyLaine. We know how the worst of national newspapers like to quote such threads after all.

You, for instance, posted once but you are now part of the mire and midden that this thread comprises - as am I and I most certainly don't want to be judged by ill-informed vicious gossip but, as a member, I have no choice.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 09:51:05

I didn't see that and GN didn't inform me. Are you sure you didn't dream it, Eglantine21?

I have no wish to wind you or anyone else up. I have had far more to think about recently than this forum. But I do abhor damaging uninformed gossip. It is quite wicked to attack people in this way - in a way determined to damage them.

So I will ask you again. Why do you want to tell me and the rest of the world these things?

Anniebach Sun 08-Mar-20 10:00:15

Surely the obvious question is - ‘why do you want to listen’ ?

GrannyLaine Sun 08-Mar-20 10:00:53

I think you have utterly lost the plot GGMK3. Your use of language seems to convey venom at the mildest of observations, though lightly covered with sanctimonious indignation.

Chestnut Sun 08-Mar-20 10:05:52

GracesGranMK3 You, for instance, posted once but you are now part of the mire and midden that this thread comprises - as am I and I most certainly don't want to be judged by ill-informed vicious gossip but, as a member, I have no choice.
Don't worry, you will not be judged by this thread. You will be judged by your comments.

Callistemon Sun 08-Mar-20 10:07:57

Are you saying you are guilty by association, Gracesgran? By posting on this thread or by being a member of GN?

If so, that would mean every member of GN is guilty, even those who may not join in, may defend the couple or, like me, see both sides of the picture.

GrannyLaine we are guilty according to the law of Joint Enterprise!!

GracesGranMK3 Sun 08-Mar-20 10:08:58

You are right, of course, Annie. I should never have read this thread. I should have known before I looked what it would have been like. I can do that, of course - it's my super-power [rolls eyes]

So, having rightly or wrongly looked at the thread I am still left with the question "why do you want to tell me that?" Because those who don't want the bile of malicious and hurtful comments are actually going to read it for good or ill. It happens and people will judge GN by it. What does a thread like this achieve except making older people look as if they lack basic good manners and are immature?

Jane10 Sun 08-Mar-20 10:09:50

Well put Chestnut. We all know what GGMk3 is like. Just scroll past her nasty posts.

eazybee Sun 08-Mar-20 10:10:10

So I will ask you again. Why do you want to tell me and the rest of the world these things?

Because in this country we have freedom of speech and people are entitled to express their opinions, just as you are entitled to disagree with them.
You 'abhor damaging uniformed gossip'; most of the comments on here refer to hard facts, which have been listed frequently.

You do not have to read them, but do not try and prevent others from doing so.
