I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 16:37:57

Oh yes, I forgot that too Annie. ?

Nico97 Fri 06-Mar-20 15:57:36

More than likely Sparklefizz grin

Oh yes, that had slipped my mind Anniebach grin

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 15:44:28

Surely not ?, they don’t like cameras, they said so !

Sparklefizz Fri 06-Mar-20 15:08:51

Nico97 ....I can't believe she was out at night in short sleeves - she must have been frozen.

Could she have been hoping for a good photo opportunity? grin grin

Her facial muscles had a very good workout with all that smiling.
They must ache today.

Nico97 Fri 06-Mar-20 14:32:29

As good as last night's photos were, I can't believe she was out at night in short sleeves - she must have been frozen ! grin

If MM won't allow her own father to ever see his grandson and she has never given a reason for this cruelty, then why would she care about the RF not seeing him?

I do wonder what he grown up Archie will make of this, or even the teen Archie.

Unless she manages to brainwash her own child he will see what his mother did when he grows up.....or will he take after her?

And if more of the younger RF want to follow then we have to end the RF....they can't all heave their cake and eat it... which these two are doing,

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 14:24:09

Harry said in his speech ‘you said you have my back, I have yours’

he didn’t mind stabbing his father, brother and grandparents in the back.

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 14:11:34

The sooner these two are back in the Americas the better then the rest of us, including the RF can get on with our comparatively dreary lives! RF or trashy glitz? No contest!

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 13:27:24

I so feel for the Queen, Dickie Arbiter said Phillip was near his
end.

William and Kate are true working royals but their ages compared to Charles and Camilla bring calls for Charles to
step down.

Harry and Megan ditching their royal duties for self gain.

The Queen must surely be troubled, she was personally affected by her Uncle’s abdication.

merlotgran Fri 06-Mar-20 13:26:21

I'll be very relieved when this jamboree is over and they go back to Canada leaving the RF as we know it.

I hope they'll be happy in their new life as a celeb couple. If it works for them that's fine so long as we're not expected to bask in their reflected glory every time they make an appearance at some ultra glossy event.

There's celebrity and there's our monarchy. I know which one I prefer.

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 13:24:10

But leopards don’t change their spots!

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 13:23:40

That actually sounds so sad Chewbacca because of course estrangement is sad, and to all intents and purposes, the Queen, PP, and Prince Charles have been estranged from Archie. They appeared to welcome Meghan with such warmth, it’s just very sad. It’s far too late now to think , well look what she did to her own family.

Chewbacca Fri 06-Mar-20 13:16:43

Like others, I too feel rather sorry for the Queen; she's not seen her GGS for quite a while now and he'll have changed a lot in that time. I wonder if she'll be putting up a post on the GN estrangement threads asking for advice: "my DGS has recently married and had a much loved DS but he left the country with his new wife, who's made it plain that she dislikes us, and now I'm unable to see my GGS. What can I do?"

Calendargirl Fri 06-Mar-20 13:11:53

I heard a snippet of Meghan’s ‘speech’ on the radio this morning, she obviously spoke before Harry made his own speech. She was saying how difficult it had been to choose winners for the awards presented last night, and somehow managed to mention they were in Canada when they were deciding.
I expect we knew that after all the hoo haa.
Call me cynical, but her gushy, beaming way of saying this just sounded so false to my jaded ears.

SirChenjin Fri 06-Mar-20 13:00:59

The photos were very stylised, very glamourous - they're definitely more aligned with 'sleb than royalty.

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 12:56:25

Well they might if they’d turned up in ripped jeans and trainers!

I thought they looked lovely, though I did notice Meghan was wearing much more makeup than she had been seen in before, and her teeth definitely looked whiter, maybe she had them whitened. Anyway I don’t care whether she has or hasn’t. I just wish she’d show a bit more respect to the Queen and royal family. I guess she was trying to show the world how happy they are and how they're ‘thriving’ now they’ve left ‘toxic’ Britain and the’toxic’ royal, stiff upper lipped, family.

vegansrock Fri 06-Mar-20 12:30:43

If they hadn’t smiled or glammed up then they would have got it in the neck for being disrespectful.

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 12:26:11

That’s interesting Namsnanny

Namsnanny Fri 06-Mar-20 12:24:03

Imv all the gloss teeth and smiles that some have commented on is a psychological overcoat.
By that I mean, they have invested so much in the break from old and start of a new life that they must make it look as if it is working.
These people know how the media works.
Glamorous photos sell.

Namsnanny Fri 06-Mar-20 12:18:10

What's fascinating is your tunnel vision summerlove

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 11:53:27

?

merlotgran Fri 06-Mar-20 11:50:36

I asked DGD1 who is a film make up artist what she thought of last night's pictures and she said, 'Air brushed, Hollywood perfection!' grin

M0nica Fri 06-Mar-20 11:48:01

GGMK3. I have not taken part in the verbal stoning, as you put it, although I have posted on this thread. In fact the majority of posters have not stoned them personally, although there are few who have.

Like many, when they announced their departure I had every sympathy fur the reasons they gave for their departure although thinking the way it was done was ungracious by anyone's standards.

Since then their behaviour has continued to be ungracious to everyone; their family and the tax payers who funded their public role, and, sadly. their expectations of their opportunities and prestige as free range Royals for hire has begun to fall apart from a lack of outside interest. As I said Price Harry, last night, looked stressed and unhappy, which is sad because his warm smiles and interests in all around him were among his most egaging characteristics.

That is the limit of my interest in the affair. You say I lack imagination. I prefer that to having a fevered imagination.

seacliff Fri 06-Mar-20 11:46:24

Me too, and who reported it?
