I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

Annie
I thought that about the brothers too.
Meghan gave a little wave to W+C, but as far as I could see, Catherine didn’t appear to respond. Is that correct, did anyone see something different?

Dollymac Mon 09-Mar-20 23:32:02

This has gone far enough surely?
Meghan and Harry have had enough and are leaving, good luck to them
It's getting distasteful now

Has anyone else actually watched the youtube piece shot inside Westminster Abbey that someone gave a link to?

What do you think is going on around 8.27-8 mins into it?

Sparklefizz Tue 10-Mar-20 08:44:28

According to the News online this morning, Harry and Meghan were annoyed that they were not going to be included in the procession into the Abbey yesterday and that William and Kate were, so to avoid any scene or upset, W & K did not join the procession and were directed to their seats.

I thought Kate in particular looked under great strain. Now I understand why. The only person who was beaming was Meghan.

merlotgran Tue 10-Mar-20 08:53:48

Meghan is leaving another split family in her wake. Harry will probably be discarded when she no longer needs him.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 08:57:55

Kate must be under great strain, there will be more official
visits abroad , more has fallen on William, they have three
small children. But all we hear is poor Harry , poor Megan,
Harry is motherless.

Ellianne Tue 10-Mar-20 09:01:40

The last thing we want to see is William and Kate having to prop each other up with constant hand holding and back rubbing. Things will be tough but hopefully they will cope as a family unit.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 09:05:30

They won’t do that hand holding nonsense, they have dignity.

luluaugust Tue 10-Mar-20 09:07:52

They were all at a church service, however jolly, with the Queen in attendance what were they supposed to do dance in the aisles, remember they couldn't even shake hands. I think Edward did his part well. For Harry the 'fun' is just starting, hope he knows.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 09:17:41

The love birds held hands walking from the car to the Abbey gates,

Sparklefizz Tue 10-Mar-20 09:18:04

I have never liked that hand on Harry's back guiding him everywhere.

Sparklefizz Tue 10-Mar-20 09:18:52

Kate had to get dressed up for another event yesterday evening.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 09:19:20

Controlling ?

maddyone Tue 10-Mar-20 09:33:56

I thought William, Catherine, and Harry all looked very strained. Edward and Sophie were doing a fantastic job in talking to and supporting them all. Meghan was smiling broadly, no sign of strain. Catherine looked beautiful and happy at her evening engagement. All families have difficulties and sometimes disputes, but they’re not played out in full public glare. How horrible for them all.
Looking online at the pictures later I was struck by Harry’s pictures, he looked either unbearably sad, or angry in many of the shots of him.

eazybee Tue 10-Mar-20 09:48:34

I didn't watch the service yesterday or see any news. All the newspapers today are focused on the sour expression on Harry's face and the smirking of the sugar- snap fairy next to him, ignoring other guests and the purpose of the service itself.

I hope they enjoy their new life and the privacy they claim to want, and leave us alone, but fear we shall be inundated with incessant bulletins about their damaged emotional state, because neither of them knows how to behave.

Alexa Tue 10-Mar-20 09:51:04

The Queen is marvellous to take the monarchy into new territory to suit a new age and concede the H and M are doing right.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 09:53:40

doing right for themselves at a cost to others

merlotgran Tue 10-Mar-20 10:00:48

I hope they stay away and don't return for events like this or Trooping the Colour. Meghan has to be centre stage and knows that's what will happen as the media is obsessed. (sells newspapers)

No wonder Kate looks pissed off. So would I be if, no matter how hard I worked, all eyes are on she who does sweet FA other than split up the family - and revels in it.

Please, H&M. Stay in North America and keep your 'good works' for the shallow world of celebrity.

Anniebach Tue 10-Mar-20 10:08:27

Puzzling, Harry flies in and is photographed leaving the airport, Megan flies in no photographs, have they left the country ? no photographs at any airport.

merlot I wouldn’t be surprised if they turned up for
Trouping the Colour, Megan would get a carriage ride and
a spot on the balcony. This would be good publicity for her.

Sparklefizz Tue 10-Mar-20 10:33:45

According to the news item online, H & M became "emotional and upset" that they weren't included in the procession with the Queen, (they don't want to be royals but still want to be treated as such imo)....... but once they were all seated, M looks smug and self-satisfied, and H, Kate and William look stressed, strained and anxious.

Washerwoman Tue 10-Mar-20 10:51:42

A previous poster said Kate always looks mad with William.I absolutely don't see that. There were some lovely photos of them in Ireland recently.
However they have been a couple since university almost 20 years ago. They are not at the stage where they feel the need to constantly hold hands -in fact carrying out engagements they never did and why would they ?They face years of duty.Proper duty not just flitting in for the odd occasion as suits. They have 3 young children. They have been rather dumped on by younger brother who always knew he would go down the line of succession but could have shouldered a lot of the burden if he had chosen -or rather his wife - had chosen to stay. She has herself put up with years of negative press coverage in the beginning but kept quiet and carried own.I'm not surprised she looks strained at times .However she hosted a reception at BP last night and looked radiant.I bet she's as relieved as H and M the service was over.
I genuinely hope H and M find happiness in their alternative lives in N America but hope if and when they do come back Camilla,Kate,Sophie and Anne in particular don't get relegated in press attention and their causes sidelined.

Bagatelle Tue 10-Mar-20 11:06:43

According to the news item online - please don't believe everything you see in the 'news'.

moggie57 Tue 10-Mar-20 11:13:47

thing is they always had loads of staff to do everything for them.someone runs the bath for them .someone gets dinner/someone cleans and washes for them .they have never had to lift a finger in their life. harry will find life hard away from royal life.i really cant see this marriage lasting .the sly grins on meghans face says it all .its i got money a prince AND my freedom.....

Meanwhile, CNN reports:

"(CNN)Prince Andrew has "completely shut the door" on voluntarily cooperating with a US investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirators, prosecutors in New York have said, despite the royal's public offers to help with any probe into the disgraced financier if required.

The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey Berman, said his office was "considering its options" as it continues its investigation into the convicted pedophile's circle of associates.
The Duke has come under intense public pressure to explain his relationship with Epstein and allegations he had sexual encounters with an underaged girl, which he denies.
"Contrary to Prince Andrew's very public offer to cooperate with our investigation into Epstein's co-conspirators, an offer that was conveyed through press release, Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door on voluntary cooperation and our office is considering its options," Berman said at a press conference on Monday'.

Comparison with Andrew's behaviour, leaves H & M looking squeaky clean.

wicklowwinnie Tue 10-Mar-20 11:35:29

Well, it's all taking the attention away from the Duke of York and his behaviour. The publicists of the Royal Family are good at that!! Remember how they concentrated on Diana's behaviour to take attention off Charles and Camilla's going's on? They know exactly how to divert the publicity!!!
