This doesn’t seem to be being discussed much do here goes

1. Black people are mentally inferior
2. Women’s sport is more comparable to the Paralympics than it is to men’s
3. Enforced long term contraception
4. The benefits of everyone modafinil once a week are ‘probably worth a dead kid once a years
5. FGM is not a serious risk to girls ‘much of the hue and cry looks more like a moral panic’

For starters.

Callistemon Tue 18-Feb-20 14:33:30

I must have been living under the same rock as Callistemon.

At least it's dry under here, isn't it POGS.
Our shelter from the stormy blast

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 14:31:10

He’s gone Callistemon but it’s far from history, is it.

Callistemon Tue 18-Feb-20 14:31:02

GC in front of CBeebies, eating lunch.
You also have a life, too, off Gransnet, GrannyGravy!! grin
My GC aren't here today.

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 14:30:26

And what is your excellent constituency MP’s views on No 10’s appointment of As, their refusal to condemn AS and their views on his rhetoric over the years GG13? If she/he answered their emails promptly it should be easy to establish quickly if this is someone you want to continue voting for.

Callistemon Tue 18-Feb-20 14:29:07

and on GN where you’ve been active.' Yes, maybe on other threads.

I see a thread now, today, on GN but took no notice because the title is the world according to Andrew Sabisky and I'd never heard of him so didn't bother to open it.

He could have been an actor, written a book, it rang no bells.
He's gone, history.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Feb-20 14:23:48

GC in front of CBeebies, eating lunch.

I think I have caught up with this thread.

For the record I and my family are not in the 53% uneducated Conservative voters.

I voted for my excellent constituency MP who answers letters and emails promptly, is involved in local issues. I also know the Conservative MP in the next constituency as well.

I would like to ask all the Labour, Lib Dems, Green Party and SNP supporters if they know the names and backgrounds of all their parties SPADs?

I will not apologise for my vote, but I will admit to being pleased that AS is gone, and hopefully not replaced with a likeminded individual.

jo1book Tue 18-Feb-20 14:23:19

Dominic Cummings is described as a Disrupter; basically marxist (?)who just happens to work for the Conservative Party. He has got it in for the Liberal Elite that run the Country but it could be a step too far for the Conservative Party. He was able to catch the mood of the electorate that is swinging Right (all over the World). Time will tell if he succeeds. I can't see him winning over moving the Lords or stopping BBC funding.

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 14:23:09

POGS - it's not up to the unelected DC to deign (or otherwise) to admit to his mistakes though, is it?

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 14:21:39

How convenient that you chose to omit the first part of the paragraph I wrote which was "You neatly sidestepped my point about being well aware of DC and BJ (and their well documented comments, actions and behaviours) I see".

AS is only a small part of the problem which has been pushed to one side by Tory voters on here.

POGS Tue 18-Feb-20 14:19:34

Sir Chenjin

'So DC unrepentant it seems.'
---

I think Dominic Cummings is showing the trait of many who have found themselves in this position, he cannot accept when he has made a mistake and bravado and cockiness kicks in which only exacerbates the problem.

I remember when there was the hoo ha over Jared O' Mara the Sheffield MP. He had been ' On a Journey' since his youth.

I think Cummings may well go the same way as other political aides and become too toxic to handle and will be gone sooner rather than later but then again I thought about others.

Sir Chenjin

'I see Callistemon and unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few days you’ll have been very aware of the furore surrounding No 10’s refusal to condemn - it’s on every news outlet, every social media platform and on GN where you’ve been active.'

LAST FEW DAYS

Today is Tuesday and it was only monday/yesterday that a thread was put onto Gransnet and I am sure the opportunity to discuss this would have been put on Gransnet as soon as the story broke.

I am an avid news /politics watcher and I had never heard of him until Monday. I must have been living under the same rock as Callistemon. If this story has been on every news outlet for days I like many missed it.

Posters cannot say anything other than be truthful and if this has been in the public domain for days then all they can say is the truth ' they missed it'.

That is not a satisfactory answer to some posters who belittle but what else could be said?

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 14:04:46

Oh - you got my hopes up there Roses, I thought DC had resigned. He's worth too much to No 10 to go, I suppose sad.

Roses Tue 18-Feb-20 14:02:16

Sorry should have read all the replies I just heard it on the news that AS had resigned. Think it is old news now
Need to keep up!

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 13:54:41

DC has resigned??

Roses Tue 18-Feb-20 13:53:50

He's resigned. Good riddance

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 13:53:29

Thanks for your apology POGS

So DC unrepentant it seems. When he was questioned about the appointment he replied “Read Philip Tetlock's Superforecasters, instead of political pundits who don't know what they're talking about."
The reference appeared to be to a 2015 book of similar name on the science of prediction, Superforecasting, co-written by US-based academic Philip Tetlock according to the BBC website.

He’s without shame or remorse and knows he’s in a very strong position in No 10. Horrific.

Greymar Tue 18-Feb-20 13:51:15

underclass, underbelly, underneath, that's me.

growstuff Tue 18-Feb-20 13:50:45

Sabinsky's definition of underclass is thick dimwits.

growstuff Tue 18-Feb-20 13:49:25

It might not be a good idea from a voting point of view to exterminate the underclass. Apparently, polls are showing that 53% of those with no educational qualifications voted Tory in the last election. hmm

POGS Tue 18-Feb-20 13:40:59

Sir Chenjin

'SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 12:22:52
So why did I post before you Sir Chenjin???

You didn’t - if you read the whole thread from the start you’d have seen that.'
--

You are correct and for that I apologise.

Greymar Tue 18-Feb-20 13:35:52

Just incase anybody actually is a fan of AS, I was speaking in jest btw.

Does the 2 child thing not apply to celebs?

Parsley3 Tue 18-Feb-20 13:35:50

Define underclass, Greymar. I want to find out if I belong to the underclass. What about you?

SirChenjin Tue 18-Feb-20 13:35:20

Would the underclass be the racist, ableist, misogynistic, sexist, hatred inciting pond life in our society?

Granny23 Tue 18-Feb-20 13:34:29

Well we already do have a form of contraception for the underclass. It is called the 2 child policy.

Greymar Tue 18-Feb-20 13:23:17

I think AS has a point, contraception for the underclass.
