Sorry MaizieD I couldn’t do a link for my 11:05am post. It was from the Brexit Bulletin in the Telegraph which is behind a paywall. It is an opinion piece. Does that matter?
In my view (!) .... This is what happens when you have multiple nations all looking out for their own best interests. After the U.K. joined and there were 15 it was enough of a challenge but since 2004 and the money flowing eastwards there were always going to be tensions!
Farming has always been heavily subsidised in France and they don't want to give that up, the same as they are now demanding the same fishing quotas. I always thought the European experiment was doomed to fail as more and more countries joined.
I’m so glad we never joined the euro. If we had we might have been stuck in the experiment forever!
?
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢
Voting. I’m so glad we still have the ‘old fashioned’ system…
