Oh dear Harry and Meghan
(1001 Posts)In this morning’s DT
THE Duke of Sussex has been duped into speaking about his decision to quit the Royal Family by hoaxers pretending to be Greta Thunberg, it was claimed last night.
The Duke was pranked by Russian jokers who convinced him he was speaking to the teenage climate activist and her father, according to The Sun. He alluded to tensions between his wife and himself, and the rest of the Royal family and also criticised Donald Trump, who he said “has blood on his hands. ”
The two phone calls were reportedly made to the Duke at his rented home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on New Year’s Eve and January 22, by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus
Do you all remember how “Sheik gate” put an end to Sophie Wessex’s career plans? I fear that without the protection of a Royal Press Officer Harry risks being a bit of “an innocent abroad “
A thought just occurred to me,
In order to judge a person , Do you have to recognise & behave like the person who some of you attribute unpleasant characteristics to. ?
Or have some of you had experience of being involved in or on the receiving end of unjust judgement?
Yes, as you say you have to hand it to her! Mind you it was subject to us ALL, being so gullible, which of course we ALL were, but then we had no reason not to be!
Yes she did getting instruction from the Archbishop of C!! Apart from Archies christening and Commonwealth day, I wonder if she's set foot inside a church since?!!
And was confirmed C of E I believe.
Yes merlotgran she moved very fast in all that.
Unbelievable! History has it that she even purported to show a great interest in the history of this country, the RF in particular! P.C apparently spent time relating how it fitted together! Allegedly she grateful to him and completely fascinated!! Poor man! He was 'had' too and by all accounts still is!!! I think it's so sad.
You've got to hand it to her though. In record time she has got exactly what she wanted.
Not so sure about Harry.
Absolutely, her life wasn’t made hell, she was given everything she wanted, a dream wedding, a beautiful home, the cash to furnish the home just as she wanted, thousands and thousands of pounds worth of designer clothing, world wide fame, servants, security, and all she had to do turn up at a few events, smile and be nice, and show a bit of interest in the charities of the events she was attending. But it was too difficult because no one asked her how she was! This said amidst some of the most poor and disadvantaged people in the world.
Yes, David, Meghan herself said in the interview that her friends had warned her the press would make her life difficult. I think Harry said that he spelt it out to her too. She was either very stupid or very arrogant to think that she could have it all her way and have the media eating out of her hand.
Jabberwok
I agree.
Thank you trisher for answering the question, even if I don’t agree with you, and think you’re talking complete rubbish, at least and at last, you answered.
Incidentally I know very little about ’Friends’ because I didn’t watch that either, but I would have had to have kept my head in a bag to not know it was on television regularly, but Suits, nope, never heard of it before Harry met Meghan.
Her life wasn’t made hell, she caused her own problems.
Meghan was warned about living in a goldfish bowl and that the media would make her life hell, it all came true and she wouldn’t tolerate it. For Harry it was a colossal mistake, very poor judgement I guess he thinks love conquers all, maybe it will work out for them. So far it has been all about what “she” wants how many men would accept that long term?.
asset, not assert!!!
Best ignore the republicans, just trying to disrupt the thread.
Not everybody who has a difference of opinion to you on this matter is a Republican.
But that’s a fantastic way to “other” people.
If Meghan and Harry had been an enormous assert to the RF the republicans would resent and dislike them as much as the other members! As it is, with a bit of luck, their appalling behaviour might, just might bring the RF down, and President 'who knows 'will be quickly installed! They aren't really being supported on here, just a useful tool to trash the RF hopefully fatally!
I’m just wondering how many of us had heard of Meghan Markle before she started dating Prince Harry. I certainly hadn’t. I don’t think she was famous at all except for the people who watched the apparently second rate tv show.
I never saw "Suits" but had the impression it was launched on the back of the success of "The Good Wife" but an inferior variation of that series.
That’s a lot of words from two people who never actually saw the show.
Best ignore the republicans, just trying to disrupt the thread.
Double agree trisher re H&M AND the RF.
Plus, all media products have a target and a secondary audience. Old British people were neither for the show Suits.
Why do I "defend" Meghan? quite frankly because the comments offend me. I would defend anyone in any circumstances who was subjected to unwarranted and unfounded criticism which seems to be based on rumour and speculation, but especially a woman. And actually I admire them for walking away from an outdated and incestuous family with very dodgy members. They may have to earn a living by being celebrities on talk shows etc, but it's not as bad as pretending to be something you are not and fleecing the general public.
Incidently it isn't ageist to say something is aimed at a particular age group. It's what the industry does. It's simply stating a fact. And maybe you do know all the cast of Friends. I'd take bets that most teenagers wouldn't know what you are talking about.
I really don’t care, the reason being ,is that our own lives would not be any different with or without them, ohh apart from the exception that we would have to find something or someone else to focus our ‘opinions ‘ on

It’s simple really, not at all difficult to understand. The cost of the royal wedding is why we’ve been taken for fools. They could have got married in LA and paid for it themselves. Ask yourself why they didn’t.
Ellianne
Indeed, it was ageist wasn’t it?
I have heard of many celebrities who are younger than myself, I don’t live in an enclosed environment with no access to media, I see and hear what is around me. Just as many others do. The fact is Meghan was not even famous, let alone a household name, prior to her meeting Harry.
I do question why republicans constantly defend Meghan, not one of them has given me an answer yet, and I’ve posed the question in several of my posts. Underneath it all, I think they know just as well as the rest of us how appalling her behaviour has been. I’m forced to consider that they are loving the distress that’s been caused to the Royal Family by this whole unsavoury saga.
Why or how have we been taken for fools?
Prince Harry has married her because he wanted to, no one knows for sure how anyone’s life will pan out, no point in going down the scenario of The road less traveled. ... their lives just like the rest of us will pan out with twist & turns just like the rest of us.
And before anyone jumps in , yes they do have the finances to assist them, as do many others in life, no guarantees who or what ever you are or do. .. love is love until it isn’t , fortunately they like the rest of us can choose to un-marry
A heart cannot be stolen, it goes where it wants go ❤️
We have many tv series which run for years,
That's a bit if an ageist comment trisher! I don't think "Friends" was aimed at our age group either but we all know who Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are. Oh and Reese Witherspoon too.
