In this morning’s DT
THE Duke of Sussex has been duped into speaking about his decision to quit the Royal Family by hoaxers pretending to be Greta Thunberg, it was claimed last night.
The Duke was pranked by Russian jokers who convinced him he was speaking to the teenage climate activist and her father, according to The Sun. He alluded to tensions between his wife and himself, and the rest of the Royal family and also criticised Donald Trump, who he said “has blood on his hands.
The two phone calls were reportedly made to the Duke at his rented home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on New Year’s Eve and January 22, by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus
Do you all remember how “Sheik gate” put an end to Sophie Wessex’s career plans? I fear that without the protection of a Royal Press Officer Harry risks being a bit of “an innocent abroad “

This isn't about Harry and Meghan, didn't know where else to stick it though. Anyone else see the pictures of the three royal children clapping, thought they all looked great, cheered me up smile Heavens, little Louis isn't a baby anymore a real little boy and looks so much like Kate. Ducking down now before anti royalists come on and chuck verbal bricks for mentioning it.... Off I grovel, doffing virtual cap and bowing and scraping as only a peasant can grin

Anniebach Fri 27-Mar-20 15:52:39

They did look so sweet, and Louis certainly kept up with his
brother and sister.

merlotgran Fri 27-Mar-20 16:14:22

They're adorable and it gave my mood a boost so that's OK by me.

Ellianne Fri 27-Mar-20 16:20:39

It was lovely to see them together, all dressed so normally and smiling.

Bridgeit Fri 27-Mar-20 16:21:01

I loved the way he glanced between his sister & brother to make sure he was doing it correctly.

I seem to remember aaages ago (well, it feels like ages, at least well before M&H showed any signs of planning their exit) something along the lines of "I used to think well of Meghan, but now I'm not so sure" hmm

Anniebach Fri 27-Mar-20 16:26:52

Not from me

merlotgran Fri 27-Mar-20 16:28:44

I remember the thread.

Callistemon Fri 27-Mar-20 16:29:10

Agree with your post maddyone
They're just not relevant any more, are they.

Terribull yes, they are lovely children, I enjoyed seeing them.

Edges out of the room backwards, oops, mustn't fall over Lupo!

Curlywhirly Fri 27-Mar-20 19:30:04

I thought it was lovely to see William and Katherine's children clapping (a real good PR move!) but couldn't believe how talk they all were! Lucky them (I'm only 5' and do tend to notice these things!).

Anniebach Fri 27-Mar-20 20:26:12

I doubt it was a PR move , a good PR would have the five,

Grany, bow out, leave, run for the hills.

I don’t understand why people who don’t like the wealth of the royal family aren’t also resentful of the many billionaires in the world eg Richard Branson, who doesn’t pay taxes in Britain because he’s chosen to go to live on the island he owns precisely because he then doesn’t need to pay taxes in Britain. And unsurprisingly his children will inherit his wealth! And there are many others. Be very careful of what you wish for!

paddyanne Sat 28-Mar-20 11:01:51

Its not ABOUT wealth ..its undeserved unearned adulation and the fact they take taxes that should be used for the good of the people .I dont understand why anyone thinks royalty is OK ....mind you it does grate that Phil the greek who came here a penniless dethroned family has accumulated tens of millions for shaking hands and being obnoxious ...AND before you say he fought for us during the war.....so did my Dad and millions like him and they got begger all.Kings and queens are a medieval concept and thats where it should have been left .

MawB Sat 28-Mar-20 11:03:46

Am I right in thinking I have read that Virgin Atlantic aka Richard Branson’s money printing machine is applying for a government bail-out?
Hmm- how many ways could I say No?

Others among the super-rich are apparently putting their hands in their pockets, offering resources etc.
BTW Richard there are U.K. citizens stuck in India, Peru and no doubt other places .
How about offering rides in one of your big shiny silver under-employed machines? hmm

Anniebach Sat 28-Mar-20 11:08:11

I support the Monarchy, the very thought of a president ? no thanks
