In this morning’s DT
THE Duke of Sussex has been duped into speaking about his decision to quit the Royal Family by hoaxers pretending to be Greta Thunberg, it was claimed last night.
The Duke was pranked by Russian jokers who convinced him he was speaking to the teenage climate activist and her father, according to The Sun. He alluded to tensions between his wife and himself, and the rest of the Royal family and also criticised Donald Trump, who he said “has blood on his hands.
The two phone calls were reportedly made to the Duke at his rented home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on New Year’s Eve and January 22, by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus
Do you all remember how “Sheik gate” put an end to Sophie Wessex’s career plans? I fear that without the protection of a Royal Press Officer Harry risks being a bit of “an innocent abroad “

Well, the Queen has just made comments jin a message according to the BBC!!

Jabberwok Thu 19-Mar-20 16:34:50

I'm determined that you are getting these flowers!!! flowers

Jabberwok Thu 19-Mar-20 16:33:47

Blast!

Jabberwok Thu 19-Mar-20 16:33:29

Harry could have been a great support to William particularly in the Commonwealth. P.C apparently had high hopes in that respect, but tinsel town came calling, and that was the end of that good idea!
I'm sorry that you are lonely gillybob. [ flowers]

Anniebach Thu 19-Mar-20 16:32:09

And some about fellow posters !

Greymar Thu 19-Mar-20 16:31:23

maddy. the situation with your family being medics is absolutely terrifying. So sorry.

Greymar Thu 19-Mar-20 16:29:56

I think the point gilly has made is not about envy or being meanspirited but about the RF having access to the absolute best of everything . Other people don't have it and some of them don't deserve it.

The best dentist, the best therapist, the best plumber and so on.

People on this forum have been mean spirited and some about Meghan.

Anniebach Thu 19-Mar-20 16:28:29

Summerlove William isn’t about to become king, taking
on much of the workload for his grandmother and father is
something Harry could have shared , they are his grandmother and father too.

Anniebach Thu 19-Mar-20 16:24:02

maddy oh I so want two bedrooms , really do, my bedroom
is also my store room.

merlot with Harry for a brother William needs sympathy.

Summerlove Thu 19-Mar-20 16:22:49

Nice one, Harry

King is a one man job. It was always going to be William.

I truly don’t see how Harry has given him more work than random birth order did.

William was never going to be “Co-King” with his younger brother

GrannyGravy13 Thu 19-Mar-20 16:22:41

Mr.GG has just said that Harry, Meghan and Archie are going to Balmoral? Apparently it came up on his news feed, and now he cannot find the link.........could be fake but who knows?

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-20 16:10:10

True Maddyone

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-20 16:09:11

Pissing on your lawn won’t make mine any greener . smile

merlotgran Thu 19-Mar-20 16:07:29

Prince Philip is joining the Queen at Windsor today and Prince William is apparently going to take on all the official stuff rather than Prince Charles who is 71.

Nice one, Harry. angry

maddyone Thu 19-Mar-20 16:06:51

I really can’t be bothered with worrying about the Queen’s wealth. There are plenty of other wealthy people about. Richard Branson has his hand out for money from the government apparently to prop up his airline. This is the man who lives abroad and only visits Britain for three months of the year so he can avoid paying taxes!
I’m thinking about my family and immediate friends and neighbours who may need help or support just now.

Pantglas2 Thu 19-Mar-20 16:03:39

Well said anniebach. However if you were as mean spirited as some, you could sit and gloat about other people’s misfortunes.

I don’t envy anyone who’s got more than me - they’ve got problems as well, just different ones, I’ve found.

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-20 16:03:12

I agree Annie you wouldn’t . My point is that her Maj and co. couldn’t possibly understand what ordinary people are going through everyday so best she says nothing .

maddyone Thu 19-Mar-20 16:01:57

Annie
You probably wouldn’t want one anyway, more cleaning to do grin

Anniebach Thu 19-Mar-20 15:50:13

I will never understand the constant comments about people’s
wealth. So the Queen lives in Windsor Castle, I live in a one
bedroomed bungalow, if the royal family vanished tomorrow
would I get a 3 bedroomed bungalow? No.

Jabberwok Thu 19-Mar-20 15:45:55

H.M is nearly 94! whether she is well heeled or not is surely neither here nor there!

Oopsminty Thu 19-Mar-20 15:17:15

Sighs

It's clearly not a fake

There would have been a statement

He got pranked

I don't like pranking

But he got pranked and that's all there is to it

No doubt he'll take more care in future

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-20 15:12:17

Are you saying she is not a well healed old woman rafichgran ? I can't see how this is being nasty?

I really fail to think what difference anything she says will make to the ordinary person?

I am on Gransnet because I am lonely. Sorry if that bothers you . You can always ignore my posts.

Jabberwok Thu 19-Mar-20 15:06:31

I absolutely agree maddyone and I sincerely hope that your family stay safe and well. It was the vile horrible personal comments about HM (and other RF members) that actually shocked me, not worry about her welfare which I'm sure is well taken care of.

rafichagran Thu 19-Mar-20 15:03:13

How rude Gilly, about well healed old woman. No need for nastiness. We all have problems, me as well. I just dont put all my personnel life on Gransnet, but I am not taking it out on a 93 year old lady. Dont be so bitter.

maddyone Thu 19-Mar-20 14:09:03

Well I agree that he Queen addressing the nation won’t reassure anyone. When this crisis is over, eventually, then maybe she will thank our frontline workers. At the moment I’m very worried about my daughter and her husband who are doctors and have been told they may well have to go to work in our local hospital giving palliative care to Coronavirus victims. They are GPs, haven’t worked in hospital for years. Will they have enough protective clothing? I’m proud of them but terrified. This is what I’m worrying about, not the Queen.
Incidentally our local hospital had 15 Coronavirus patients two days ago, there’ll surely be more now. There are more important things to worry us than the Queen.
