In this morning’s DT
THE Duke of Sussex has been duped into speaking about his decision to quit the Royal Family by hoaxers pretending to be Greta Thunberg, it was claimed last night.
The Duke was pranked by Russian jokers who convinced him he was speaking to the teenage climate activist and her father, according to The Sun. He alluded to tensions between his wife and himself, and the rest of the Royal family and also criticised Donald Trump, who he said “has blood on his hands.
The two phone calls were reportedly made to the Duke at his rented home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on New Year’s Eve and January 22, by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus
Do you all remember how “Sheik gate” put an end to Sophie Wessex’s career plans? I fear that without the protection of a Royal Press Officer Harry risks being a bit of “an innocent abroad “

74 Lucca. Which in a particularly vicious thread, can at times be no longer than an hour.

Prince Charles said many, many years ago he wouldn’t pledge to defend THE faith, but all faiths. He was prevented from doing so by the traditional wording of his title, when he becomes king.

Megan was a divorcee, she can marry in the C of E but usually
divorcees don’t wearing virginal white ,perhaps they do in
America and I am sure some do in this country, I have never
a divorcee in virginal white.

Lucca Thu 02-Apr-20 11:58:47

Are we nearly there yet?

Lucca Thu 02-Apr-20 11:58:18

Of course most first time brides haven't just been holding hands and the church has made allowances, but second or subsequent marriage you can't pretend innocence!!

So hypocrisy and pretence are fine....unless you Are MM??

janipat Thu 02-Apr-20 11:56:17

And I assume you know PC intimately to know about his faith or lack of? And yet people are constantly criticised on here for nor "knowing" Harry or Meghan!

janipat Thu 02-Apr-20 11:54:10

GagaJo Most 'Christians' who attend church don't have a real, living faith.

And your evidence for this blanket, insulting comment? Or is it just another easily cast slur on people. You have spoken to millions of Christians around the world I take it.

Jabberwok Thu 02-Apr-20 11:47:12

Exactly Q I! Just in order to marry, not for any clear religious
reason, even going to the lengths of Anglican Confirmation! eeek! I wonder what the Archbishop made of it?!

QuaintIrene Thu 02-Apr-20 11:30:27

What I found a bit, not exactly disconcerting I don’t know what exactly was how MM changed religion. From being brought up RC, then converted to Judaism to marry ( not easy ) and then was C of E to marry again.

GagaJo Thu 02-Apr-20 11:20:17

Most 'Christians' who attend church don't have a real, living faith.

Marriage in church, in white, is a tradition. MM is no more of a hypocrite than all of those other brides. Saying she is, is ridiculous. PC isn't a Christian other than in the formal sense.

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 11:16:42

You don't know a lot of things about me Annie and I said "all" from the film Alfie. I usually post for my own amusement what else is there? Especially on threads like this.

Anniebach Thu 02-Apr-20 11:10:51

trisher I didn’t know you had personal experience with the
worlds most influential people ?

I said ‘girls’ not ‘all the girls’, you are posting for your amusement now

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 10:54:07

Jabberwok wearing white for a bride is a relatively new custom it has nothing to do with religion or faith. In Victorian times few brides wore white.

Jabberwok Thu 02-Apr-20 10:39:29

Why get married in Church at all if religion means nothing to you and religious vows are meaningless. I did say that the Church does turn a blind eye to first time white brides, but second and subsequent marriages is stretching credulity a bit! I also commented on the fact that that having received instruction and commitment to confirmation that Meghan took her new religion seriously and presumably would have been mindful of the churches teaching, otherwise why do it?

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 10:31:46

It's the film industry Annie It influences all our lives and the really active people in that industry live in LA. I know this because of personal experience. If you choose to ignore it that's up to you. But fashion and life in general is influenced by films. I don't think "all" the girls were having sexual intercourse by 1966.

Anniebach Thu 02-Apr-20 10:20:27

trisher you said

‘The people working and living there are amongst the most
active in influential in the world’ who ?

And girls were having sexual intercourse before 1966

Greymar Thu 02-Apr-20 10:17:55

How can a place be shallow? Thats just silly. Is another place serious?

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 10:15:02

Jabberwok if that applied loads of women walking down the aisle shouldn't be wearing white, but they are. It's just a change of custom. There is no religious requirement.

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 10:12:57

Annie it isn't a person it's a culture. Think it was in "Alfie" when he commented that once sexual intercourse was shown in films all the girls would be doing it.

Jabberwok Thu 02-Apr-20 10:04:15

Of course most first time brides haven't just been holding hands and the church has made allowances, but second or subsequent marriage you can't pretend innocence!! Confirmation is usually undertaken as a serious religious commitment not just a means to a Hollywood wedding.

Anniebach Thu 02-Apr-20 09:58:43

Who in LA is influential in the world ?

trisher Thu 02-Apr-20 09:52:53

Some of the output is shallow some of it is cutting edge and changes our culture. Film making is highly influential and the people living and working there are amongst the most active and influential in the world.

MawB Thu 02-Apr-20 09:40:27

There’s got to be a reason it’s called “La-la land” grin

GagaJo Thu 02-Apr-20 09:36:24

There are VERY few virginal brides these days, regardless of their previous marital status.

Anniebach Thu 02-Apr-20 09:10:10

A place called the centre of film and tv industries isn’t shallow?
