In this morning’s DT
THE Duke of Sussex has been duped into speaking about his decision to quit the Royal Family by hoaxers pretending to be Greta Thunberg, it was claimed last night.
The Duke was pranked by Russian jokers who convinced him he was speaking to the teenage climate activist and her father, according to The Sun. He alluded to tensions between his wife and himself, and the rest of the Royal family and also criticised Donald Trump, who he said “has blood on his hands.
The two phone calls were reportedly made to the Duke at his rented home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on New Year’s Eve and January 22, by Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus
Do you all remember how “Sheik gate” put an end to Sophie Wessex’s career plans? I fear that without the protection of a Royal Press Officer Harry risks being a bit of “an innocent abroad “

If G and C are at home, then my dgc should be too. The only difference is Kate isn’t doing anything useful and has a nanny so it won’t impact her or society. In fact the RF are proving what a waste of space they are - all retreating from public and not one message or broadcast to the nation. When this is all over, even more people will ask themselves exactly what’s the point of them? And I wonder how many ICU beds with ventilators and available staff have been set up for the RF and if they can easily access tests?

It is for the Queen to speak to the country , not the rest of the
family. All children will be home from school for the next 6
months.

The royals will have private health care as do many. Wonder
how many MP’s will have to stay home to look after their children.

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 17:00:17

I’m talking about the - the Q done nothing except run away.

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 17:00:57

RF missing ( in more ways than one)

trisher Wed 18-Mar-20 17:08:42

^All children will be home from school for the next 6
months.^ Will they? Most schools are still open. (in England)

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 17:23:01

So I forgot to say from Friday, woe is me.

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 17:25:49

The Queen is doing what all their 90’s should do. If she made
a public appearance we would hear ‘why doesn’t she have to
self isolate’.

merlotgran Wed 18-Mar-20 17:30:26

She will probably make a speech from Windsor castle sometime soon.

trisher Wed 18-Mar-20 17:35:06

Ooh Annie you have second sight. That wasnt announced until 5.15pm but you knew at 16,56!!!

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 17:37:09

I heard it on the news and posted it, it wasn’t said at the time
some children would still attend school

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 17:37:48

I never said anything about a public appearance annie. She should issue a statement or do a broadcast. And if she’s too old to do the job of HoS at this crucial time, she should abdicate, not run away.

Greymar Wed 18-Mar-20 17:39:09

Schools closed now. Yes suzie, time for Charles to find his voice.

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 17:39:33

And actually annie you’re muddling up self isolating and social distancing. Do keep up.

merlotgran Wed 18-Mar-20 17:41:11

The Queen will be the one making a speech. Charles would only do it if the Queen were ill.

merlotgran Wed 18-Mar-20 17:43:05

She isn't running away, sw. She's been at Buckingham Palace all week but will apparently spend self-isolation at Windsor.

That's what we expect, surely?

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 17:45:57

suzie if the Queen made a public appearance there would be
many people , this would be so against the advice surely ,
do keep up

GrannyGravy13 Wed 18-Mar-20 17:50:57

I have to back Anniebach up, the Education Secretary announced it in the H of P before PM's speech. ( also rumour mill from school was saying at lunchtime our little school would close Friday)

eazybee Wed 18-Mar-20 18:02:47

If the Queen was running away she would leave the country, say for Canada?

I have no doubt that when required she will make a speech, and then you can say: 'What does she know about it anyway?'

There. Saved you the trouble!

eazybee Wed 18-Mar-20 18:04:37

With regard to the schools being closed, apparently the supermarkets have had plenty of children running around this week, having been removed from the dangers of school by their parents.

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 18:05:33

She’s running away from facing her public. annie one of her zillions of staff csn set up FaceTime or Skype for her

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 18:22:37

I could be so wrong but I think if the Queen was ready to speak to the country she wouldn’t need FaceTime,

the BBC, ITV, SKY, surely one could spare a camera man.

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 18:24:21

Well exactly - she just can’t be bothered

Anniebach Wed 18-Mar-20 18:40:30

I disagree suzie

suziewoozie Wed 18-Mar-20 18:41:56

Of course you do annie why would you not?

Jabberwok Wed 18-Mar-20 18:59:24

How on earth can you possibly know what the Queen can or cannot 'be bothered to do?! A. She's nearly 94 years old, and B. what does she know about corona virus? Anything to have a pop at the RF. No surprise there!
