I really enjoy Historyand there are some excellent programmes which demonstrate the link between past RF and the one we have today. Of course there are connections, massive ones. The protocol, the rules, the behaviour , the genetics.

Re the clothing of the children, some of it can be a little odd but Catherine and William have gone a long way to make things more normal ( for want of a better word)

Did anyone see William and Catherine’s children when they were clapping for the NHS? Did they look they dolls?

Sadly the hatred on here is not coming from those who are disappointed by H+M’s abdication, it is coming from those who simply cannot stand either the royal family or those who support them or are interested in them.

trisher the old adage "marry in haste, repent at leisure" is something that would have saved everyone a lot of upset where Harry and Meghan are concerned.
I don't imagine she had any true understanding of her place in the hierarchy. As an institution it's far bigger than any individual within it.

Dress their children like dolls?!!!!! Who does that? In any case how parents dress their children is their business and nothing to do with anyone else. Expect to be curtsied to? I think only the Queen insists on that! The RF bent over backwards to accommodate Meghan and she threw it back in their faces but then they were all part of the master plan to fame and fortune, staying was never on the agenda!

The point of this thread is surely Harry and Meghan.
They are now no longer royal and have announced they will fund their own security, so they are what they desire to be, private citizens, and therefore no longer of any concern to us.

summer in Scotland, I chose Wales for most of my summer

Curtsying is not expected, some members of the public still

How nasty to criticise what children wear, those children do
not look like dolls , surely it’s the choice of every parent to choose what clothes to dress their children in. When has any

Really Annie because I can see lots of similarities. Still disappear to Balmoral when they want, expect to be curtsied to, still have to have things hidden from them when they visit, still observe outdated placing when walking together, still dress their children like dolls, still insist they are special- there are loads more. And Grany is right some of their behaviour is feudal.

No even further back Charles is feudal the way he runs the Duchy estate and they are all in it together.

Maddyone it is Meghan not Harry whose achievements have been constantly belittled on this thread. It is hatred no other word for it.
I was thinking what it must be like for someone from one of the most American, creative, 21st century industries to be suddenly dropped into the 19th century RF and I can see that it would dazzle for a while but it would be bloody impossible to live in.

The word trisher is disappointed. Many people are disappointed with Harry’s actions. You may feel they have no right to be disappointed, and that is your right, but the word is not hatred, it is disappointed.

I’m not entirely sure what the Queen Mother has got to do with H+M except she was Harry’s great grandmother. I had heard she likes a tipple, and was a snob. I have no idea if either of those are true, but I also heard that she was a particularly caring grandparent to Prince Charles, especially as his mother was thrust into the limelight whilst he was a very young child, causing the Queen Mother to take on much of the mothering role.
The person who admired the Nazis was Edward the eighth, and there is evidence to show he did. I cannot imagine that the Queen Mother was an avid Nazi during WW2 to be honest.

Well can you give another word for dismissing the acheivements of someone, criticising their every action and blaming them for every thing that has happened in a marriage? It can't be considered rational criticism.

Well, I have heard tell that many born north of the border like a tipple or two.
That isn't racist, statistics do bear that out.

The nearly 400 million (and the rest) they cost us every year would certainly come in useful for our National Health Service and never more so than at the moment.
Germany has been able to test patients with the right equipment, keep track of contacts etc and keep deaths down while we piddle around.

To be fair, paddyanne the Queen did use some of her own dosh to pay off the Queen Mum's Coutts overdraft which ran into several £million!

It was her entertaining budget.

I suppose it's no surprise that somebody so pickled would live to a ripe old age but she could drink enough to fell an elephant.
