Not guilty on twelve charges, not proven on one. So, he’s not a sex offender. His character, however, has been revealed as unsavoury, at a minimum, even his defence counsel said as much.

I hope no one ever votes for him again, if he should seek election. I stand with those nine (*nine!*) women.

I assume the standards of evidence were no different to that
which sent Timothy Evans and Derek Bentley to the gallows
and put Stefan Kiszko in prison for 17 years and Stephen Downing jailed for 27 years , let’s not forget the Birmingham 6
Was justice served

Many people suffering from stress right now. It demonstrates itself in many different ways that are often unexpected.

My how your reporting finger must be busy busy busy hahha

Grandad1943 Thu 26-Mar-20 16:01:55

I cannot understand why so many are troubled and upset over this vedict. The standards of evidence were no different to that which sent Rose West to prison for so many years for the Gloucester "House of Horrors" murders.

Again justice was served and I believe she still remains in the slammer.

Judging by your above unfounded slanderous one-line posts against untold numbers of men throughout Great Britain 1ananimous, I feel a great many of both genders would not wish to "get used to you". ?

His career won't recover from this. As I said, mud sticks and there's been buckets of it.

Anniebach Thu 26-Mar-20 15:45:46

I didn’t ananimous

SirChenjin Thu 26-Mar-20 15:45:43

Another example of a powerful man being found ‘not guilty’ of behaving appalling. I wonder at what point the hive mind will stop excusing these crimes as inappropriate behaviour from men as start treating them for what they are. You only have to look at the figures to know that unless the evidence is caught clearly on camera, there’s tens of witnesses or the woman has the broken bones to prove it then she has only the slimmest of chances of a successful prosecution. AS and the criminal justice system have come out of this exactly as history tells us they would.

That P.I.E. (paedophile information exchange) talk on GN is worrying though, yeuuuuuuk!

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:27:33

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:27:15

No not upset grin get used to me

Grandad1943 Thu 26-Mar-20 15:26:12

On dear, you do seem upset unanimous.

The indictments were heard by a fully selected and vetted jury and that jury after hearing all the evidence concluded Alex Salmon was not guilty of the charges laid against him.

A simple case of justice being served.

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:21:06

I doubt it will affect his career.

Off topic, but news: Found out that paedos use Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) to communicate. Be aware.

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:17:37

Who is surprised at the verdict, come on!

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:16:07

Filthy old men everywhere lately, can't stand them.

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:15:28

Filthy old man imo

Grandad1943 Thu 26-Mar-20 15:11:58

SueDonim Quote [Grandad43 you appear ignorant of the verdict of Not Proven on one charge against AS. ] End Quote.

SueDonim I was not "ignorant" of the single not proven verdict on one charge. However, with Alex Salmon being discharged on thirteen other indictments it did not seem worthwhile to speak of it.

After all, it has been a resounding victory for Salmon over his what now are proven to be wrongful accusers.

Straight forward justice many would say.

Oh just thought, perhaps you were ignorant of the thirteen not guilty verdicts SueDonim.

The Times claims four women have contacted the Met Police. No one from the Met has commented.

ananimous Thu 26-Mar-20 14:15:35

Someone else has come forward hmm

SueDonim Thu 26-Mar-20 14:13:08

Grandad43 you appear ignorant of the verdict of Not Proven on one charge against AS. It is a highly controversial verdict unique to Scotland within the UK. Many people read it as ‘We think you did it, we just can’t prove it.’
