Just had a news flash that Boris and Carrie have been delivered of a son .

I hope I’m wrong and have lost track of time , but it does seem very early ?

I do hope he is okay .

Carrie’s father is Matthew.....

Feel quite sorry for her now. Men with a history of moving on to new partners rarely seem to change their ways. Perhaps being so much in the public eye now will stop him looking for someone new at the moment. He doesn't strike me as a hands on father, but perhaps she isn't expecting anything like that.

For my critics- I'm pleased that the baby has arrived safely and that mother and child are doing well. However, some of the adulation on here reminds me of the birth of William, which IMHO was more justified.

Alima Are you new? I've started several threads on here, on various topics. If you have some time to spare, perhaps you could take a look.

I like Pericles, Cherrytree
However, it would get shortened to Perry without a doubt.

Pericles Stanley Symonds-Johnson

Boris' first name is actually Alexander, so that would be nice, or Xander as he likes his ancient Greeks.

My family must be posher than I imagined as 11 of the names on the bookies list are current family names! grin shock

I am not a fan of either Mr Johnson's particular politics or of his past antics with women, but I thought the photograph of him that's on the front pages of most newspapers tells its own story. He looks like a man who's just seen his child being born and is filled with the joy that comes from such an experience, I found it quite moving.

I also do believe that people can change, grow up, settle down etc. when conditions are right in a new relationship and am hopeful that this precious new life will grow up with both his parents around.

As for a name - hmm I think;
Atticus
Hero
Marcus
Lucas
Hector
Augustus
Cato

I trust they will get criticised for not naming the hospital/ date/ photos whatever as per Megan and Harry.
Man cheats on wife , has several love children, gets much younger woman up the duff, Oh no it’s the sungod, he who is without criticism, what a joyful occasion. .

Apologies for double posting, had error notice

None of us know what goes on behind closed doors in a marriage or relationship and I refuse to judge . I myself have been married 3 times and my children are to 2 different fathers . Am I to be judged ? Are my children to be judged?

vegansrock Thu 30-Apr-20 09:59:07

No, many of us are in the same position, but it’s not heralded as some sort of national celebration.

gillybob Thu 30-Apr-20 10:08:32

The celebration for me (if you can call it that ) is that the serving Prime Minister has just been very ill, hospitalised and at deaths door suffering from this awful pandemic. Despite all odds he has survived and has just become a father to a baby boy, with his fiancé .

I don’t care whether it is his 1st or his 21st child .

MissAdventure Thu 30-Apr-20 10:10:29

smile
Exactly.

Barmeyoldbat Thu 30-Apr-20 10:19:32

I see no reason in this time of of a national crises that Boris should have a 2 week leave, after all he is working from home.
Oh yes, happy that the baby arrived safely but thats it.

Puzzler61 Thu 30-Apr-20 10:29:05

Debate is healthy posters, but getting personal and nasty isn’t healthy. I’m not sure if Boris J is a poor PM or a good one yet, only history will show that. But that is his job, and what he does in his personal life is no different to what goes on in many lives. But when we’re on this thread, debating, let’s please be polite to each other. My idea of a name for baby:
Rexi ? (middle letters of Brexit) ? ?

Jabberwok Thu 30-Apr-20 10:30:17

He's not taking two week leave! If he takes it at all it it'll be in the Autumn! Good post gillybob, totally agree with your comments! Peoples private lives are their business and nothing to do with anyone else!
