Shouldn't the headline match the contents?

I really enjoy reading magazine but they are appalling when it comes to describing the stories inside with the headlines on the front page. This is just to draw readers in. I buy them regardless as I never get round to complaining. I doubt they will stop doing it if I do. And I really hate it when they use friendly words like hubby in the headline when the story is horrendous.

The headline isn't written by the journalist who writes the story. If the person who writes it hasn't read the story properly they don't always match...

There’re an increasing no of times a mismatch of headline and story is being picked up on in the (online) broadsheets in the below the line comments.

"Headline and short news item in today's Sunday Post"

Reminds me of when our Sunday papers arrived on the island about 5.15 on Monday !

It is more helpful if headlines match the text, but the Sunday Post is a lovely read anyway. (Remembering Oor Wullie and The Broons !)
