Apart from PMQs when he is more or less forced to turn up to be humiliated, where is he the rest of the time?

This country totally lacks leadership.

LadyGracie well he's obviously feeling much better, he was pictured jogging the other day, so must be on the mend.

If he is feeling anything like my DD after suffering the virus and pneumonia he’s probably still recovering or trying too.

GagaJo Sun 24-May-20 19:39:01

Oh Gill, that’s great. Exactly!

Buntie123 Sun 24-May-20 17:49:45

well that press conference tonight was a total sham !

Johnson is proof of 'Be careful what you wish for'. He is inept, a proven liar, philanderer, so why on earth are we expecting him to suddenly become a decent human being? I had to laugh at something I read on FB earlier; ^asking Johnson to work without Cummins is like asking Emu to work without Rod Hull^ grin

Niobe Sun 24-May-20 16:21:42

Yes, today's briefing should be interesting. Of course Cummings will have given Johnson his instructions as to what he is allowed to say.

MayBee70 Sun 24-May-20 16:19:07

Have they let him out of the fridge then? Or will he have one handy...

Whitewavemark2 Sun 24-May-20 16:08:03

Blimey Johnson is gracing us with his presence at 5pm.

He must think things are getting out of hand, or more likely everyone has refused to take the flak for him at the press conference.

Looks like he is still clinging on to Cummings

One thing that Boris is good at is avoiding Questions from the media. He managed it when standing as leader of the conservative party, and also with Brexit. There was always some other Stooge/minister standing in for him. He is weak and ineffectual and not up to the job, in my humble opinion.

Niobe Sun 24-May-20 15:22:58

According to the Daily Fail website some Tory MPs have broken ranks and said that DC has to go. He will be out soon as others take courage and join them. Sajid Javid must be having a wee celebration!

MissAdventure Sun 24-May-20 15:07:57

They'll just deny it.
No shame at all.

MayBee70 Sun 24-May-20 14:24:41

Shapps has categorically stated on Sky News that Cummings only went to Durham the once so if it's proven beyond doubt that he has been up several times it won't look very good on him.

It's rare, but I totally agree with you, whitewave smile

Still no sign.

The country is in crises over covid.

All this nonsense over an expendable spad. What on earth are they thinking about.

Johnson isn’t even beginning to earn his salary.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 24-May-20 10:10:06

Johnson should take this evenings press thing.

Everyone is taking the flak for him it is ridiculous

Cindersdad Sun 24-May-20 10:06:32

Boris cannot have fully recovered from COVID so for that reason alone is not capable of being an effective PM. He should step down and if he fails to ditch Dominic Cummings his position will be untenable. There is noboby in his cabiniet who is really fit to take over though a number better than Boris himself.

They have to clean on COVID and Brexit and stop blaming others. Holes have been dug in both cases and they have fallen into them.

Eloethan Sun 24-May-20 00:15:12

Grant Shapps looked extremely uncomfortable trying to defend Cummings' behaviour. The reason he put forward that Cummings was taking care of his family seemed a bit feeble to me.

I expect they're all rushing around now trying to find some dirt to throw at somebody outside their own party, or raise some other vital issue in order to distract. I truly hope more people are beginning to see what an ineffective and dishonourable bunch of people this government is.

Nanna58 Sat 23-May-20 23:48:32

Summerlove, perhaps the Govt can blame auto correct for changing their words after the fact- wouldn’t put it past them!???

Nanna58 Sat 23-May-20 23:35:31

Sorry, ‘ only person’

Nanna58 Sat 23-May-20 23:34:55

Johnson must be the onot person able to be less evident out of Intensive Care than he was whilst in it!!!!

Whitewavemark2 Sat 23-May-20 22:12:44

There are 24 hours in a day.

What is Johnson doing??

growstuff Sat 23-May-20 21:40:31

grin

NfkDumpling Sat 23-May-20 21:12:05

Dominic Cummings has shut him in the cellars at number 10 and won't let him out so he can issue statements in Boris's place. He's probably done that since before Christmas anyway.
