GNHQ edit: Following on from previous thread linked to here: Will he resign?

We have 4 more bloody years of this.

And to think some people think him Churchillian, Churchill must be spinning in his grave, he'd never bumble and bluff his way like this, and you don't have to like Churchill to think this.

As for the number of tests being done, one quarter of all the tests to date have been sent out by post. These tests may never be used or returned for analysis. The figures for the 25th May ( I admit a bank holiday) show that the total of 109,979 tests recorded for that day includes the 49,503 tests posted out. On the government's own website they only confirm just over one million people having been tested.

Wish I hadn’t watched that. It’s made me so angry. Yvette Cooper put Boris to shame with her to the point questioning. From Boris all we got was ....
Waffle. Evade. Accuse questioners of political point scoring.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:53:17

Every time he appears it is more and more obvious why they try to keep him away from the cameras.

Grannynannywanny Wed 27-May-20 16:52:18

I don’t think he even knows what he’s talking about. This is painful to watch

MayBee70 Wed 27-May-20 16:50:56

I don’t even know what he’s talking about.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:49:39

I've been forbidden from announcing any more deadlines," says the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, smirking like a schoolboy caught scrumping apples.
Forbidden by whom?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:47:27

Posted too soon.

Starmer, by Keeping himself aloof from such nonsense is playing a very clever card.

He is leaving Johnson fully exposed to answering questions which he patently can’t answer.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:45:34

Some people have wondered why Starmer has not taken part in the recent fracas .

It is quite clear now. Apart from a couple of very good interviews in which Starmer made clear his opinion over Cummings etc.

From this committee replies it is clear that Johnson is at his most comfortable is when he can chunter on about opposition politics and sound bites. He is useless at answering questions

MayBee70 Wed 27-May-20 16:38:25

Johnson has just stated that if you are asymptomatic you will not test positive for the virus if you have it. Which is wrong.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:36:34

Johnson knows nothing about anything.

What on earth does he do all day?

I don't think there is another head of government in the world who would be as ill-informed about the government's own policies and guidance as this ... it is shameful. Humiliating for Britain. People all over the world watching this fucking conman

Boris has said at least six times that people should move on. That will come as a huge relief to families of 60,000 who have died

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:33:24

I’m beginning to feel sorry for him.

Burble burble burble. Whiffle whiffle

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:31:38

“The reason you are ducking and diving PM is because you are protecting Cummings and not putting the interests of the British public first”

Johnson refused to advise parents with covid to stay at home. Johnson said that worrying over the lack of clear instruction is political.

An insult to every parent in the country!

Tory mp can’t understand why Cummings is so important.

Oh dear Johnson is toe curlingly embarrassing

MayBee70 Wed 27-May-20 16:26:31

Yvette Cooper. Respect! He’s now going to divert away from Cummings to relaxing lockdown rules.

MayBee70 Wed 27-May-20 16:24:54

Hasn’t answered a single question.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:22:21

This is yet another total car crash. How in gods name did he get to be PM

Greta Wed 27-May-20 16:19:56

Just now Boris Johnson is answering questions in the Select Committee. He is still just waffling, doesn't want to talk about Dominic Cummings because "the important thing now is that we must all move on. And keep washing our hands".

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 16:09:15

Committee questions

Started with Cummings.

Lots of questions - so far he’s refused to answer a single question

growstuff Wed 27-May-20 16:07:37

varian Having bored myself to tears reading some of Cummings' blog, I am still firmly of the opinion that he intended to set up a scenario which would enrage people.

It really is as though he wanted to be caught out and to cause offence. There's something on his blog about ant colonies. Nobody tells ants what to do, but once something happens, the ants are programmed to behave in a certain way - and that's exactly what people have done. Now we have the backflash with people over-reacting and surrounding his home (so now Piers Morgan is up in arms about that) and silly conspiracy theories. I don't believe for one moment that this is about childcare or anybody's birthday - that's how normal people might behave, but not him.

He intends to get Brexit done and preoccupy everybody with this until it's too late for the UK to ask for an extension, which most people consider would be sensible in the current circumstances. Meanwhile, contracts have been handed out to Tory supporters and personal mates without going to tender and no scrutiny. The Agriculture Bill has gone through Parliament. We're well on the way to selling ourselves to Trump.

Laws have been changed to make Cummings' behaviour seem lawful. Tugendhat and Ellwood have been forbidden from asking Johnson questions. Democracy is on its last legs. Meanwhile, people are dying and they see it all as a big game.

Danny Kruger's tweet and message summed it all up.

MaizieD Wed 27-May-20 16:04:23

Glenda Jackson and Dan Hodges don't get on.

Not surprised given their politics grin

I'll re-admire her, then

MaizieD Wed 27-May-20 16:02:47

Of course they'll get EU Single Farm Payment, Maybe70, they farm it. Everyone gets it. But it finishes this year.

Farmers are supposedly getting a replacement from the UK government. Many farmers absolutely depend on the SFP for income. I'd like it to go to the person who actually farms the land, be it landowner or tenant, then maybe people wouldn't make such a song and dance about rich landowners getting it (without having a clue as to whether or not it is spent on farming or environmental compliance).

I don't think there's going to be much of that £350 million a week left for the NHS grin

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 15:58:03

I see Bernard Jenkin (Sympathetic to Johnson)has been appointed to the select committee chair rather than elected by the other MPs as us usual.

Johnson now has a plant that will favour him. Big mistake imo

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-May-20 15:55:55

Louise Minchin - Do you disagree with Dominic Cummings' decisions?

Robert Jenrick - No... but it's important everybody else sticks to the rules
