Meghan's Speech

Posters expressing an opinion is not spewing hatred or bile. It appears some would like to close down free speech on this subject. The claim that we are all ‘embittered old crones‘ is truly nasty, especially towards people that are not in any way known to the writer, and to my mind that is spewing hatred and bile. Pan and black comes to mind.

All I see is a woman who is desperate for attention.I haven’t listened to the speech,but have read it,all those silly phrases she has plagiarised.She hasn’t got an original thought in her head.

It was a private speech,yet it has magically been released to the media.Oh I wonder how that happened!!

For me ‘beauty is skin deep’ , what a person says and does that is important .

Megan is praised for her latest tv appearance for supporting
the black Americans, I have criticised her selfish interview when in S.A., this it seems is wrong and of no importance.

I do wonder why there is so much antagonism towards Meghan. Could it be that it would be directed at anyone who Harry married. Did people feel they "own" him and wanted him to remain as the "fun loving slightly naughty favourite" never grow up and have a family of his own? I have no idea whether I would like Meghan or not, having never met her but it seems there are many who have decided she is the epitome of all that is wrong in the world.

Yes I think Meghan speech was really good something called for in turmoil of racism in US She should not be criticised for this.

And true pick on someone deserving of criticism like P Charles putting up rents on Duchy land.

I mean he pockets £20 million a year, landlords elsewhere allow their tennents to buy the land their house sits on not Charles he is living in feudal times like its his own private fiefdom.

But is the Duchy public or private that is the question? Or pick on Tories privatising our NHS to an insurance based system like USA we seem to be copying them.

I don't know if I like her, I don't actually know her. As far as I can see she hasn't done things that would cause me to dislike her, as for example someone like Margaret Thatcher did. I wouldn't normally bother with her, or Harry, but the hatred and bile spewed out on GN has to be combatted somehow. If only to show that we are not all nasty embittered old crones desperate to condemn an attractive young woman who seems to have committed the cardinal sin of not wanting to live close to her in-laws.

I can assure you Anniebach that a lot of republicans couldn't care too hoots about Meghan or Harry. Normally speaking, I wouldn't either. As with Diana and Charles, I didn't bother to watch Meghan and Harry's wedding as it did not interest me.

However, I think some of the things that have been said about this couple over the last few years (and also increasingly of Diana) are really spiteful and I don't think they deserve it. Reserve your vitriol for really unpleasant people like Andrew - who seems to have got off rather lightly. Or even Charles who has recently hugely hiked up the rents on his Duchy of Cornwall land and properties, to the dismay of many of his tenants.

Don't give her the oxygen of publicity.

I agree with everything you have said Jabberwok. I also agree with kittylester who asks why disliking Meghan makes her a racist. It doesn’t, and it’s an odious suggestion to make such a slur.

Incidentally kitty I don’t like Emma Thompson either. She’s virtue signals and in my opinion is two faced due to her do as I say , not as I do attitude.

Anniebach i “defend” as you call it someone who has catty remarks made about them , it’s fine to say you object to harry and Meghan leaving etc but an awful lot of the comments are really personal and unkind.

You're quite right Jane10! Tbh originally, I really liked this young couple and feel great disappointment at how things worked out. I suppose you have to hand it to her she had us all fooled, but then she is an actress which soon became clear ! Best forgotten!

Lucca, you may not have met her but you must be aware of her behaviour towards her in laws even her own father? Presumably you find all that goodwill, a beautiful home, (taxpayers expense) that wonderful wedding in laws again! Being welcomed and cheered wherever she went, and saddest of all pretending to care so much about the people of South Africa who live in abject poverty who hoped to see them again, an attractive way to behave? They'll be lucky!! With all their influence, privilege and popularity they could have really made a difference particularly in poorer Commonwealth Countries, especially as her husband had done so much already for Africa which he purported to love. But tinsel town called and it all just fell away! She conned us all from the RF to the rest of us. Sorry if you find it offensive, but that's how I feel!

I totally agree Annie. Had these two been been an asset to the RF, republicans would dislike and sneer at them as much as they do to rest of that family. With a bit of luck these two might just be the catalyst that brings down the RF, that's why republicans find them so attractive!
