growstuff - I think Grandad would be mortified at your suggestion that he has an affinity with right wingers.
So far I have found him to be quite respectful - unlike so many left wingers' posts I have seen on Twitter and FB. They're not interested in any kind of debate. They just want to throw personal insults because they don't know how to argue.
Let's hope that planning restrictions will not be relaxed so much that people will cash in and be allowed to build 2-storey houses in their back gardens (worse than "beds in sheds"), that the new houses to be built will not be rabbit hutches and that they will be affordable for those who so desperately need them.
He has been incredibly rude to me - ironically, for being a LibDem member while expressing views which are sometimes more "socialist" than his. I do not find his views consistent at all. He appears to be obsessed with Labour Party policy and protocol, whilst rarely expressing concern for those whom the Labour Party should be supporting. He seems to have a problem with me personally (which doesn't bother me that much) and is, at times, quite spiteful and refuses to enter discussion and prefers personal sneers.
I agree with the rest of your post.
