Lazy, lazy Boris

It is mindblowing that this excuse for a PM has not even bothered to read the winter coronavirus report. When Kier Starmer pinned him down in PMQs all he could do was say he was ‘aware’ of it.

He is pathetic..and dangerous.

Boris has not read winter coronavirus report

Parsley3 Thu 16-Jul-20 12:50:20

It is possible that the PM has not fully recovered from the virus and the strain of being accountable is taking its toll.
His answers at PMQs rarely address the question asked but instead turn into stock phrases. For example, the Leader of the Opposition is accused of supporting the government last week but criticising it now, with the usual addition of a reference to briefs. The Leader of the SNP is dismissed with a reference to wanting to break up the union regardless of the question asked. The PM is visibly relieved when it is the turn of Tory MPs to ask friendly questions. PMQs is becoming unbearable to watch.

Yes, Ug, it looks a bit like Rishi has discovered something of a socialist agenda. Whatever next?

Urmstongran Thu 16-Jul-20 12:35:55

Sunak’s generous packages?

GagaJo Thu 16-Jul-20 12:34:49

I'm pretty sure Boris no more reads GN threads than Meghan and Harry do. Fear not JE.

Lucca Thu 16-Jul-20 12:32:57

“ He and the government are doing a fantastic job under such difficult circumstances.”

Examples please JE ?

JenniferEccles Thu 16-Jul-20 12:30:05

We all get our words a bit twisted sometimes ! It’s quite common but the rest of us are not being recorded at the time.

Give Boris a break for goodness sake. He and the government are doing a fantastic job under such difficult circumstances.

Yes I’m sure some mistakes have been made but on the whole they have coped brilliantly.

It doesn’t help to have these endless sniping threads.

How about showing some optimism, some positivity if some of you know the meaning of the words!

GagaJo Thu 16-Jul-20 12:27:05

As much as I'd like to claim second sight, lemongrove, unfortunately it was blatantly obvious.

Should we start a book on the date the Tory party bins him?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 16-Jul-20 12:23:27

However much some on here despise the Conservative Party and the Prime Minister they still have a 10 point lead over Labour in the latest U Gov poll!

The PM said I am aware of the report I would have been concerned if he had said I am unaware of the report .

I thought his leg shaking was just his jealousy of Rishi Sunak needing an outlet.

growstuff Thu 16-Jul-20 11:53:16

He had his briefs joke ready and waiting and he is too slow witted to realise that the timing was spectacularly wrong. He seems to be misjudging the mood recently, what with that and the care homes remark. If he loses his popularity as a jolly chappy, he has nothing left to fall back on.

I actually think there's something medically wrong with him. Did you see his uncontrollable leg shaking in Parliament when Rishi Sunak was speaking? Or his inability to say "contact tracing"? www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwxFbcNJVtU

Urmstongran You are seriously deluded (or about 20 years out of date) if you think the BBC has a "woke" agenda.

growstuff Thu 16-Jul-20 11:46:10

Urmstongran

griwstuff I didn’t say AN was at all ‘woke’ - I think he’s the polar opposite! It’s the BBC whose ‘woke’ agenda isn’t being followed by him. I shall miss his style of presentation. A lone voice.

I apologise! I missed out a "not". I know Andrew Neil isn't "woke", but I doubt very much if that's the reason his show has been axed. Johnson is frightened of him - maybe because he knows too much.

varian Thu 16-Jul-20 11:04:12

Angela Eagle's reaction when she heard Boris Johnson had been made Foreign secretary must have been echoed by half the country. He turned out to be the worst ever Foreign Secretary so the Tory Party made him leader.

I shall miss Miss Molly too, Urmstongran.
It was funny when she used to fall asleep on politicians' laps, they were obviously very boring!

79 since yesterday.

Technically, I understand, it's 78, because the opposition has gained one.

However, Lewis is a staunch tory and Brexiter. I suspect that he may vote with the government on some issues.

growstuff Thu 16-Jul-20 10:20:49

Firecracker123

Love him or hate him, I actually love him, Boris has a stomping 80 seat majority, Starmer really is irrelevant.

79 since yesterday.

I’m gutted about that. I liked AN’s questioning style. He wouldn’t let interviewees wriggle of the hook. Shame he’s gone. Probably not ‘woke’ enough for the BBC in its present form.

Johnson ran away from Andrew Neil last December.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZATuljaRxs

Neil isn't "woke". I don't agree with much of his politics, but he's a hard-hitting journalist, who actually knows Johnson. Neil was once Johnson's boss at the Spectator.

Davidhs Thu 16-Jul-20 09:51:19

Let’s face it any Tory supporters havnt got much to be proud of at present. It’s all going wrong including the leader.

lemongrove Thu 16-Jul-20 09:40:21

Gaga ‘the vociferous Tories’ don’t need to be so any more on here, the Tories are in power in a big way, so these kinds of threads are simply boring, which is why they rarely bother to comment.

lemongrove Thu 16-Jul-20 09:37:03

Gaga ?you are a soothsayer now it seems.

Parsley3 Thu 16-Jul-20 09:36:17

The PM is indeed a cheery chappy. He thought it was a whizzing wheeze to crack a joke about underpants when he was asked by Starmer to reassure bereaved families that the government had plans for a second wave of the virus.
Oh how we laughed.

GagaJo Thu 16-Jul-20 09:35:52

After the election, I said Boris was a puppet controlled by Cummings. I also said Boris wouldn't last as the leader of the Conservatives.

The vociferous Tories (strangely depleted on here these days) howled in mockery.

Half of what I predicted is manifestly true.

Wait and watch for the second half to happen (ousting of Boris).

lemongrove Thu 16-Jul-20 09:16:04

MaizieD

78 seat majority now, Firecracker. Could well be whittled down further. Backbenchers with brains aren't too happy...

Just wishful thinking on your part methinks.
