Who on earth is Melania Trump’s stylist?

The First Lady participated in a tree planting at the White House yesterday, using a golden shovel and wearing a $4,000 dollar dress. Not to mention the 5” heeled Louboutins.
Pop quiz: circle the most surprising part of that sentence. Darling, this is how you garden. The plants don't respect you if you don't serve them fashion as well as fertiliser. Everyone knows that. You think Monty Don stomps around the countryside wearing a nice dress and a crown? Of course he does! Your look better be flawless if you're out in the forest. Nothing shames you like a disapproving apple tree.

Wouldn't you have an inscrutable expression if you were married to Trump?

She's biding her time and I bet she's writing her diary!

Lucca Sat 01-Aug-20 20:35:32

She seems to lack facial expression the few times Ive seen her ?
( nickname apparently is the Slovenian Sphinx...)
Ok so she’s smartly turned out, but nothing really interesting or stylish IMO, (my own dress sense being impeccable of course?)

I think Melania looks fine.

She has those high Slavic cheekbones.

Callistemon Sat 01-Aug-20 20:32:44

Michelle (and Melania) have the advantage of being tall.

I wish I could be stretched.

Iam64 Sat 01-Aug-20 20:25:48

Round of applause for MawB. (Saint Kate ) and for lemon grove (Stepford Wives)

Melania could be a good looking woman if she didn't frock up and wear such heavy make up. Look at Michelle Obama, a real beauty with great dress sense. There's a kind of dressed down drag queen look going on with some women.

Blinko

FWIW, stylewise I think she looks like she lives in 1950s Hollywood.

Nothing wrong with that.

Can you imagine being married to Donald Trump? That poor woman. No amount of money could possibly make it tolerable. She was probably wishing he was at the bottom of the hole. Do you reckon she has her own private life outside the marriage where she has boyfriends?

She's digging!!

I think she looks lovely as well.

Callistemon Sat 01-Aug-20 16:11:06

Oh, you fraud!

But I did notice they were high heeled sparkly green wellies under that slinky frock.

lemongrove Sat 01-Aug-20 13:36:00

Oh those are my Argy Bar clothes only Callistemongrin
And the long, long hair is a wig.?

Callistemon Sat 01-Aug-20 11:49:06

lemongrove I am very envious of how you look, very Jessica Rabbit. envy
Honestly, I would never believe you are a woman of mature years, although I suppose in those heels you need to keep yourself propped up at the Argy Bargy bar.

Ramblingrose22 Sat 01-Aug-20 11:37:09

I think Melania was a model in the past so she is used to posing for photographs wearing stylish clothes and shoes.

I think she always looks very glamorous when she dresses up. I wish I had her figure and ability to wear high heels.

I expect that a lot of Americans like having a glamorous First Lady, as they did going back to Jackie Kennedy. MIchelle Obama also looked very smart in the photos I used to see of her and wore very elegant dresses.

In these difficult times a bit of glamour can relieve the doom and gloom.

Alexa Sat 01-Aug-20 11:16:15

I suppose Melania's fashions are thought up by public relations department who advise which style will win most votes for her husband.

twinnytwin Sat 01-Aug-20 11:14:57

I think she always looks fabulous and seems to be a very classy lady.

I agree Maw and think we women have taken a backwards step by continuing to wear ridiculous shoes and sprayed on dresses, with long, long hair, very Stepford Wives I think.

Agreed Lemongrove ....(wow!)

Lucca Sat 01-Aug-20 11:12:57

MawB... Saint Kate ??

Perhaps Melania should come round and criticise gransnet members' wardrobes.

Oo-Er Quizqueen ?????
Feel free to criticise if you want - it was the stylist I was referring to. The same person who put Melania in a jacket with the slogan “I don’t really care, do U” when she visited a detention facility for migrant children. That’s right detention for migrant chikdren

I do wonder about the killer heels our slebs wear (Saint Kate included)
Walking down the steps of the Linda Wing with her baby in her arms? Walking down aircraft steps without holding on?
They must take special lessons! grin
But seriously it’s verging on competitive and reminds me strongly of Chinese foot binding- which was designed to show the high status of women who did not need to walk anywhere.

NotSpaghetti Sat 01-Aug-20 10:31:47

Ok, so I’m going to say this and then put my tin hat on...
WHY does she often wear clothing that is stretched taught over her bust? She is obviously a striking woman but it often looks as though her top half is sprayed on.

Chewbacca Sat 01-Aug-20 10:31:18

Well, I wouldn't walk 50 yards in Melania's shoes, no matter how high or low the heels were. I can only imagine the misery of being hitched to the trump.
As for walking 8 or 9 miles, pushing a pram, in 4" heels.... grin
