Petition asking for Public Inquiry into Grooming Gangs

Terribull most people dont want to believe it happens in the UK in 2021.We were at a conference about trafficking in Scotland and were very shocked at how common it is and especially in the islands.Once we thought about it it seemed to make sense that boats would drop their "cargo" in the islands where the population is sparse and there are many places these poor young people can be kept hidden from the world until its safe to move them on.
I know that Police Scotland has a dedicated team involved with finding both the victims and the traffickers but the general public needs to be more aware so that these crimes can be reported and the perpetrators brought to justice .

We hear so much about"illegals" (horrible phrase) in the media but not much about the fact that often they are brought here against their will or under false pretentions

Yes it is truly shocking Paddyanne, and many, as you say are brought here against their will, such an awful crime. Often they are very young some just children. It doesn't take too much imagination to realise the horror they feel, often with the threat of family reprisals hanging over their heads.

Always there under the surface. That's why I am.very sceptical that this is anything to do with concern for women and girls.
