The tardiness of the Government and the inefficient Border Control incite people such as this group to take matters into their own hands. Failure to nip this in the bud pretty smartly with firm deterrents could result in a vigilante society and where will that leave us?

But aren't these the people who have been intercepted by Border Control? So Border Control has actually done its job in these cases. These people are here legally and are legally seeking asylum. How could it be "nipped in the bud", apart from mining the beaches and sinking the boats mid-Channel?

The so-called vigilantes are the ones breaking the law and society would be better off, if they were locked up.

However, from what I see, it’s more Conservative party lines that are more xenophobic

It’s usually people who self identify as “right wing” who are less likely to accept immigrants/asylum seekers/“boat people”

Ashlea Simon by the way is really unpleasant, I especially loathe the way she uses the armed services to further her 'cause'.

I feel so sad that human beings should treat fellow humans who have already suffering so much, in this way, but am heartened by the fact that these right wing groups do not represent the majority of us.
In the Independent a spokesperson for Kent Refugee Action Network said that they had been overwhelmed with donations and offers of help.
I do not however think we should be complacent, or naive about the rise of some extreme right wing groups, who seem to be collaborating and supporting each other.

I am a leftie, believe you me the labour party is full of many who are racist and sexist, as is the conservative party, political leanings are not a magic wand, it would be lovely if it was so.
