So all those who have complained about this the debt is paid off in full. Do you feel better?

Can you at least acknowledge they are doing their best?

Just a couple of observations:

Firstly, Was Doria Ragland not overheard introducing herself as “Meg’s Mum”?

Secondly, Meghan Markle had earned a large sum of money as an actress in a cable tv programme, but was approaching forty, when her earning potential was likely to wane. ( I base this surmise on the comments of other actresses, far better known than she). Therefore her previous earnings and potential earnings, could hardly be compared with the money that would be available to her through marriage to a member of our royal family

Lucca Sat 12-Sept-20 08:11:08

UNDIGNIFIED.
I knew I’d do that

Lucca Sat 12-Sept-20 07:58:48

Anyway just to say again I have no particular “liking” for Meghan (is she ever called Meg by the way ?) as I have never met her and I dare say if I were to meet her she might not be my cup of tea. I simply think the obsessive criticism of her every move is a little dignified in women of our generation.

Lucca Sat 12-Sept-20 07:54:00

So she married him for money obviously, silly me.
( I suspect she was pretty well off before )

Yes, back to the title and recent comments .... the discarding of the house is a strange one, especially after all the effort (let alone money) spent doing it up. But in my opinion, giving that up is actually consistent with the way Meghan treats her relationships. Both possessions and people get thrown aside in order for her to move on to something better in her eyes.
I still stand by my comment Lucca but will rephrase it a bit in case it was offensive, Meghan displays a mercenary attitude. She is money driven and that money has come neatly to her through marrying Harry.

maddyone Fri 11-Sept-20 23:16:20

And she wouldn’t have had that house if she hadn’t married Harry!

Do those on here who defend her behaviour, seriously believe Meghan is an independent, free thinking, kind and caring, person who is concerned about pollution as she says she is, who cares about deprived, poor, women who live in fear of violence, in the third world? Really?
That is unbelievable in the light of her behaviour. Behaviour incidentally that we have witnessed, not imagined. How many private jets? How many women’s refuges? Was it just the one when Harry wasn’t looking? How many smiles at the paparazzi when Harry wasn’t looking? What happened to her family? She estranged them? But I thought she was supposed to be caring. How many family guests at her wedding? How many celebrities? What happened to Harry’s family? And Archie’s family? How many grandparents and cousins isn’t he allowed to see?
It is clear for those who wish to see honestly that Meghan is no Mother Theresa, although the zoom shot of her with her hands crossed and looking to heaven was a pretty good attempt to resemble her.
Anyway it doesn’t matter, you can carry on believing that Meghan is the kindest person ever to cross the royal threshold, and that she is an independent and principled woman. Just stop trying to convince the rest of us who don’t wear blinkers.

They might be hanging onto Frogmore as scam to pretend Harry still lives in the UK
For tax dodging reasons?
or They just don't want amyone else to have it?
This alone makes them selfish.

MM will never be able to deal with the negativity she will get here is she does come back

trisher Fri 11-Sept-20 22:55:09

She's not that good at being mercenary then. She's just paid out almost £3mill for a house she will rarely use.

Lucca Fri 11-Sept-20 21:30:49

Nobody is saying she’s a gold digger.......oh just totally mercenary that’s alright then!!

Anniebach Fri 11-Sept-20 21:29:58

If Meg’s interview had been edited I am sure she would have
sued.

Ellianne Fri 11-Sept-20 20:55:30

Lucca

This gets worse. Diana had “a hissy fit”.
Meghan “is totally mercenary”

No one is saying she is a gold digger, but she is money-oriented. That's why she signs deals with top media companies.

Summerlove Fri 11-Sept-20 20:28:33

maddyone

If the words come out of their own mouths, then that is what they mean. Many of their words recently have been released via video/zoom. If the public refuse to accept the words that they say, well, what to do?
Their words are their words, whether we like them or not, we cannot dispute their own videos or zooms. I’m afraid it is what it is, like it or lump it. Of course anyone is free to read their own slant into it.

What they release themselves is of course fair game. But anything written by a journalist will in fact have a slant and any television interview will of course be edited. To think that that isn’t true is ridiculous.

Summerlove Fri 11-Sept-20 20:27:50

Oopsminty

The South African interview was done with their chum

None of that will be edited

My point was it’s still press.

eazybee Fri 11-Sept-20 19:09:06

Diana married at nineteen, had a child when twenty, her husband engaged in a long-standing affair and humiliated her; she was very young and was swayed by all the press coverage. I didn't care for what she grew into, but there was some excuse for her behaviour initially.

Meghan was almost twice her age when she married, was experienced in all sorts of ways, and has a husband who has given up everything for her and is still devoted to her. She met with nothing but kindness when she arrived; it took the Palace, the Press, the Public, about a year to see through her; condemned, as someone said, by the words out of her own mouth, biting the hand that feeds her.
So:
Diana had a hissy fit: Yes.
Meghan is mercenary: Yes.

I would like to have been a fly on the wall when those bananas that Meghan had written on were handed out to the women concerned. grin

Summerlove Fri 11-Sept-20 18:58:14

And those interviews are done With the press. Edited or not. Still done through the press

Oopsminty Fri 11-Sept-20 18:49:05

Lucca

Summerlove

Anniebach

I criticise them from their words and actions not from reading the press Summerlove

...and how do you find out about their words and actions?

That’s what I was wondering ?

We find out a lot that Meghan says when she gives interviews. Her words from her mouth.

Personally I am neither pro nor anti the pair of them

However, they clearly veered from the truth when they said they wanted to live a quiet, private life.

And she is still a HRH

Callistemon Fri 11-Sept-20 17:35:17

Yes, she had and she wanted to be out of the spotlight.

Anniebach Fri 11-Sept-20 17:34:20

When Diana dropped her charities in a hissy fit, those charities
lost money.

Katherine Kent had been ill for some years

Ellianne Fri 11-Sept-20 17:09:43

And the reward she wants is monetary, which with Harry’s world wide fame, she has achieved.
I agree maddyone. Meghan is totally mercenary. She needed a "prince", (or an actor or a footballer, it didn't really matter which), to be part of a golden power couple. Harry's royal credentials suited her down to the ground.
She certainly wasn't interested in showing any allegiance to the family itself.
