Oh Harry.

Please leave the political comments to Meghan.

Just keep it zipped

I think Meghan would be more interested in using her camera for selfies than photos of her children.

lemsip Sun 04-Oct-20 12:22:46

It was explained when George was born that Catherine would release her own photos occasionally so as to prevent the need for paparazzi to chase them everywhere, to get snaps that they would be paid a fortune for by the press!
What lovely photos they are!

Ellianne Sun 04-Oct-20 12:15:30

Many of the Cambridge children photos are taken by Catherine herself and they are delightful.
I think the animal video is the first time I have heard them speak, and the questions were just like any normal child in the class would ask.

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 12:15:24

Sparklefizz she dated Charles, she dated others, this doesn’t
mean she was into bed hopping .

David Attenborough is so lovely with kids.

The Cambridge children are delightful.

Then we have William and his wife who have taken a break from complaining bitterly at every opportunity about their children’s privacy being invaded

Have they ever complained Kleberty2 ? I have never heard of it.

Anniebach I find ‘Camilla had a racy past’ amusing . The 60’s and she wasn’t a virgin.

I think it was the fact that it was an obvious racy past and that she was trying to make Parker Bowles jealous by seeing Charles.

Then we have William and his wife who have taken a break from complaining bitterly at every opportunity about their children’s privacy being invaded

They don't complain a great deal!

Ellianne Sun 04-Oct-20 11:45:17

I agree with Lexisgranny that by constantly putting themselves out there on this matter or the other, we no longer take notice when they might have something interesting or relevant to say. Too much exposure makes us fed up with them.
Gwen has a point, maybe less waffling from them and the occasional photo of Archie would be better received. The Cambridges seem to have got it right with their children.

Kleberty2 Sun 04-Oct-20 11:39:40

The thing is with royals and ex-royals is that they all want to have their cake and eat it. We have ex-royal Harry reportedly being heartbroken that his brother is taking over the role he had as Captain General of the Marines. He either wants to be a royal or he doesn’t.
Then we have William and his wife who have taken a break from complaining bitterly at every opportunity about their children’s privacy being invaded (quite rightly) to yesterday exploiting their children for personal publicity purposes.
I suppose once they are satisfied that their pro-environment pro-animal-welfare credentials have been established in the public’s psyche they’ll be off hunting wild boar or shooting grouse out of the sky. Hypocrites.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 04-Oct-20 11:33:43

If we are getting all this crap from them, why can't we have a photo of Archie?

paddyanne Sun 04-Oct-20 11:33:25

Jabberwok May I just point out that for now Scotland is still a part of the UK therefore I am still a citizen of said union....I am as entitled to my opinion as someone who lives in Windsor or Oxford or anywhere else in England. There is a growing call for the end of the monarchy ..yes even down south ,so maybe you should get used to being without them in the future....sooner rather than later I hope !

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 11:29:42

I find ‘Camilla had a racy past’ amusing . The 60’s and she wasn’t a virgin.

And the rubbish that Diana was examined to see if she could
have children, seems unexplained infertility was unknown to
her medical team

Callistemon Sun 04-Oct-20 11:14:03

I don't think the families decided, Sparklefizz, or at least not Camilla's family.
I think she is strong minded enough to have decided for herself. She realised Charles was out of the equation but had grown to love Andrew P-B.

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 10:38:15

Camilla loved Parker Bowles. Q

Lexisgranny Sun 04-Oct-20 10:36:16

I think Meghan and Harry are being ill advised. This constant release of advice and comment is counter productive as the reaction in the press and from social media, the reaction seems to be “oh no not them again”. Before anyone comments, from what other source can public opinion be gauged? If they spaced their sound bites out, instead of this drip feeding, maybe, just maybe, people would take more notice. Having said that, being told what to do by someone who has left the country was never likely to go down well.

Sparklefizz Sun 04-Oct-20 10:34:26

If anyone has watched Series 3 of The Crown, whilst it may not be strictly true, I recognised many facts re the Charles/Camilla/Parker Bowles/Princes Anne/Diana saga and how he ended up proposing to Diana, who said herself later on that they had only spent about 11 occasions together during the so-called courtship.

Camilla was deemed unsuitable because she had a racy past and was two-timing Charles with Parker-Bowles, (who was in turn also seeing Princess Anne), so the families decided it was best for Camilla to go ahead and marry PB while Charles was at sea in order to get her out of the equation.

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 10:30:17

Definitely the queen mother ,but I can understand why she
supported arranged marriages, she was in an arranged marriage, but Lady Fermoy helped her son in law to have
custody of the Spencer children , Diana wasn’t the first choice, that was Sarah Spencer.

Jaberwok Sun 04-Oct-20 10:19:34

Not forgetting the late Queen Mothers part in instigating that unhappy marriage! She and Lady Fermoy were said to be close friends!

Ellianne

They're at it again in a new video interview with another newspaper. I watched a few minutes but for me Harry once again lost the plot. I find his current attitude to Britain and the British quite insulting. Does he think we all go round with our eyes closed on important issues here?

Harry is a changed man, isn't he? Pre-Meghan he was a much loved Prince in this country. He always had a smile on his face but now Meghan is in the picture Harry seems filled with so much angst. I feel it has to come from her and her views. Harry is besotted with her but he appears far from happy. I agree with your view about his remarks on Britain. He must have caused so much sadness for his grandmother, our Queen.

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 10:03:04

Sparklefizz I do not loathe Diana, I have never laid all the
blame on her but I have never believed the innocent lamb to
the slaughter so many here believe .

I have always said the villains in that tragic affair was Johnnie
Spencer and Lady Fermoy.

Sparklefizz Sun 04-Oct-20 09:46:14

Anniebach

Lucca I didn’t like her lies, her manipulating ,

Anniebach But what about Charles' lies and cover-ups? What about Charles' wedding vows when he still loved Camilla? I know you loathe Diana but you can't pile all the blame on her.

Anniebach Sun 04-Oct-20 08:59:55

Lucca I didn’t like her lies, her manipulating ,

I've said before, I thought they would be a tremendous asset to the RF, particularly in Commonwealth countries.

It's a great shame.

Callistemon Sat 03-Oct-20 22:45:49

What have they done off their own bat?

Oh, I see what you mean, merlotgran.

Meghan used to do quite a lot of campaigning before she met Harry. He is very good PR for her in the States, isn't he, just by being there.

Lucca Sat 03-Oct-20 22:43:47

Trisher, thanks for the informative post.
