And it says she called for Dominic Cummings' resignation, you couldn't make it up!

@Alegrias "the Ferrier thing" what a disgusting way to refer to any woman.

SueDonim Fri 02-Oct-20 23:19:23

Maybe Ms Ferrier is looking to the example of the MSP Derek Mackay in the hopes of hanging onto her seat. He’s still claiming expenses.

Cummings didn’t do anything wrong at all -we all know that and anyway, his puppet Johnson told us so.

MissAdventure Fri 02-Oct-20 22:52:36

Let's hope that is all there is to it, unlike Cummings, with extra transgressions.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 22:42:19

Well actually she got the result Monday night and didn’t leave until Tuesday. Plenty of time to come up with a solution that didn’t endanger potentially dozens of other people.

Jaberwok Fri 02-Oct-20 22:36:41

I expect she thought her test would prove negative particularly as she felt better. When it was positive I expect she panicked and blindly made off back to her home asap without stopping to think, thus making the situation a hundred times worse! Extremely foolish but I doubt malicious.

Alegrias Fri 02-Oct-20 19:40:56

"the Ferrier thing"?? I'm hoping that's a typo....

It’s not just MPs though is it? It’s the classic excuse for ‘I got caught’

Urmstongran Fri 02-Oct-20 18:35:40

Willow10

Why is it that when MPs do something wrong like this, they always try to excuse it as a 'mistake'. I always thought a mistake was something done accidentally, not a deliberate, arrogant act!

Well said Willow.

Urmstongran

Our daughter (full time teacher) and her husband (self employed) both felt ropey with high temperatures, loss of taste and smell, headache, aching muscles. They both went for a Covid test today. Results tomorrow. Daughter just rung me, children and husband in bed. She will work from home tomorrow whilst waiting for test result. Husband will just have to stay home with no pay.

That’s how it’s done properly.

Best wishes to your family ug and hope the results are negative.

Hope alls well with your Dd and sil urmstongran .? They have done what should be done not like these people who think they are above all that they should lose their job and have a big fine .

it's at least 2 miles 6 furlongs from houses of parliament to kings cross station.
what's the betting she didn't walk/cylce.
she either got a cab or the central line. further endangering fellow citizens in enclosed spaces.
and was she wearing a mask throughout all her travels.

varian Fri 02-Oct-20 17:37:34

I am astonished that she has not yet resigned.

After all she is only an MP , not anywhere near as important as Dominic Cummings.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 17:29:47

Goodness knows what she’s thinking - it’s impossible to comprehend isn’t it?

janipat Fri 02-Oct-20 17:14:06

She’s probably thinking. “if Cummings didn’t why should I?”

Very likely, although her having called for him to resign it's not a consistent attitude. I wonder if he'll have the brass nerve now to suggest she should resign wink

Well she still hasn’t resigned- I thought she would have by lunchtime. What is going on?

Wheniwasyourage Fri 02-Oct-20 15:09:13

It isn't, Daftbag1 - they changed their minds (unless they've changed them again, which is quite possible).

Daftbag1 Fri 02-Oct-20 14:57:40

I couldn't believe it when I read that Parliament bar is excluded from the 10pm closure & curfew

Wheniwasyourage Fri 02-Oct-20 14:52:08

Of course she should resign for the unbelievable stupidity and total disregard for other people, but as has been said on the other thread, NS and Ian Blackford have now done all they can. He is the party leader in the HoC and has withdrawn the party whip from her, and Ms Sturgeon has condemned her in forthright terms. Now, if she doesn't resign, only her constituents can get rid of her.

4allweknow Fri 02-Oct-20 14:36:45

Should be arrested for her flagrant disregard of the rules/advice. Someone in her Parliamentary office is also ill.

Mollygo Fri 02-Oct-20 13:51:26

Urmstongran I bet she claimed expenses too!

Marydoll Fri 02-Oct-20 13:41:09

NS spoke about it at the lunchtime briefing. She made it very clear how angry she was.

She said that the MP was her friend, but she had no choice to ask her to do the decent thing and resign.

Sarnia Fri 02-Oct-20 12:29:47

If she has a shred of decency left she should resign immediately.

humptydumpty Fri 02-Oct-20 12:20:57

She should do the honourable thing and resign, and pay the full fine; if the police choose not to prosecute, she should donate the money to a charity, for example her nearest hospice, they are all struggling now.
