That was quick......wonder what’s going on?

Oopsminty Sat 03-Oct-20 19:33:21

Quite a few articles saying Melania has mild symptoms and doing well

GagaJo Sat 03-Oct-20 19:25:59

Not to mention, where is Melania and how is she? She supposedly tested positive at the same time as Trump.

GagaJo Sat 03-Oct-20 19:25:05

Doctor said Trump was basically OK in every way.

Immediately afterwards the WH said that his 'vitals' were concerning and critical.

So basically the WH are lying about him being very ill when there is very little wrong with him. Did he actually have a positive test?

And why are they lying?

How dare you ask - you silly conspiracy theorist ;) ?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 19:16:43

WH saying that the doctor got it wrong about how long Trump has had virus.

Can’t be much of a doctor to get such a fundamental thing wrong as we know that time etc is a major factor in this virus.

Q. Is the WH to be believed?

Did you see the doctor's statement- wow he was nervous, shifty and VERY uneasy ;)

It has left a lot more questions than it has answered.

The doctor seem to let slip that Trump was diagnosed by at least 72 hrs ago which is far earlier than he is admitting, and means that he will have infected others.

It was a statement by the WH, and extremely evasive.

Karma. I don't like trump & feel he has been a negative force in the world, but I don't wish him dead. I do think the news distort the truth for their own benefits. Like in the election the papers covered the private v public health, & they said Trump does not want to buy our NHS' the issue wasn't really Trump buying the NHS or not, but whether private finance wants to buy into our NHS, which they do. You can't trust the news you read in a paper owned by a billionaire, and that's most of them. Channel 4 news is best

If he makes a full recovery he'll present himself as a Hero who defeated the virus, this will probably get him back in the White House. I find it sickening that his son called him a "warrior" - this is the man who dodged the Vietnam war because of flat feet.

Not invasive!! Evasive!!

Callistemon Sat 03-Oct-20 17:02:47

What have I missed?

I've been busy making masks, a rather smart tartan one for DH, a nod to his Scottish heritage.

Do you think Donald would like one? I have some McLeod tartan fabric, bought to make Christmas bunting but not used.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 17:01:35

CNN saying that the doctors being invasive throws everything else into question. Huge credibility problem.

72 hrs ago diagnosed, which means that Trump went on an electioneering infecting everyone in the full knowledge.

varian Sat 03-Oct-20 16:59:02

We must all hope he gets better - in so many ways

Callistemon Sat 03-Oct-20 16:56:51

Heathcliff23 I wish you a good recovery. Take care, I hope you have someone to look after you when you get home.

GagaJo Sat 03-Oct-20 16:54:35

Doctors say his breathing, liver and heart function are normal. So WTH is he in hospital?

AGAA4 Sat 03-Oct-20 16:50:18

I realise Trump's behaviour will make people cynical but I do think he has covid. Only a few days ago he was deriding Biden for wearing a mask and also made a speech to say the virus is behind them now.
I think being infected now will have given him a shock. He was arrogant and thought he couldn't get it.
Despite the way he behaves I hope he pulls through.

suziewoozie Sat 03-Oct-20 16:44:45

Oh the irony - posts saying I am lying stay and I’m deleted because I mocked the guidelines which mean telling someone to grow up is much much worse. I wonder who reported me????????????????

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 16:44:42

Very upbeat message. Very Trumpian in tone.

GagaJo Sat 03-Oct-20 16:42:58

Nothing wrong with him according to his doctors. Makes you wonder why he's costing the US tax payer so much.

Ellianne Sat 03-Oct-20 16:34:43

People in his position have to put forward a positive image for the nation. Morale can depend on it.
I agree, Devorgilla*, I remember when Angela Merkel kept swaying and shaking she said it was nothing, just that she needed some water. There can be no signs of weakness for these leaders. Film real of the Queen's father turning out for work when in the advanced stages of lung cancer also brings home how important it is for anyone in charge to be seen as indestructible.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 16:31:21

CNN questioning the time line, just as we have done, as it has happened very very quickly.

The question is when and what did Trump know, both about staff testing positive with whom he’d spent time and when he would have been most infectious, and when was his last negative test, where he went after he knew he was positive , and who he may have infected.

GagaJo Sat 03-Oct-20 16:26:32

I think a couple of contradictory things.

1) It's a ploy to get out of facing an election he knows he will lose.

2) It's a ploy to get sympathy votes and avoid the debates.

He may well have Covid. It is no respecter of social position. But nothing we hear will be the whole truth. Whatever the situation, it will be massaged in an attempt to show him in a better light.

phoenix Sat 03-Oct-20 16:25:06

Someone in his camp stated that this proves that even if you follow (quote) "the protocol" you are still not safe.

Trump did not follow the "protocol" ! Didn't wear a mask, continued shaking hands etc.

Perhaps if he and his staff had followed it, there might be fewer cases in the White House.

He's a stupid man, who thinks he's a genius.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 16:22:17

Watching CNN.

Doctors to make a statement but are apparently being prevented from saying anything not approved of by the WH.

I assume they won’t be prepared to lie?

Devorgilla Sat 03-Oct-20 16:20:23

In such circumstances I think you have to separate the man from the office. I didn't, and don't, want him to be President but nor do I want him to die of this horrendous disease which any of us could get. It does not surprise me that he walked to the helicopter, and car on arrival. People in his position have to put forward a positive image for the nation. Morale can depend on it. I did notice that when he arrived at the hospital the cars were strategically parked to shield and provide the shortest distance.
