I would imagine that there will be footage of the shooting; every protester appeared to be holding a phone and filming the events.
Someone asked why the Capitol wasn't prepared for a confrontation with the rally; Jon Sopel, (possibly), said that the presence of the National Guard was requested, but the request was refused. By whom?
The events inside the Capitol seemed shambolic on both sides; no-one coordinating either the protesters or the defence of the building. It was very shocking, but could have been far worse with much more confrontation and bloodshed; most demonstrators milled around aimlessly then left peacefully
.
As for Trump, he seemed well-pleased with the result of his rally; I had the impression it was done to display the power he can call on from his supporters. I would imagine no action will be taken against him at present because of the volatile state of his supporters, but after the Inauguration surely he must be charged with inciting a riot, and prevented from ever holding any form of public office again.
