lemon your support of the Tories has been vociferous ever since you have been posting on GN. So your suggestion that you are not a supporter is disingenuous to say the least.
That’s actually untrue WW as when I first joined GN it seemed that only Varian and I were Lib Dem supporters. I really rated Nick Clegg and was so pleased with the coalition.
I didn’t like Ed Milliband and from there on in said that I was supporting the Conservatives, which I duly did.It was even more necessary last year, to get Corbyn out and to make sure that Brexit happened.
Since Keir Starmer took over Labour seems a reasonable prospect particularly if he carries on as he has started.I genuinely don’t know which way I shall vote ( if at all!) in the future.I supported the Lib Dems for a long time in the past,
The West country has a big tradition for voting that way, and we had a decent MP.
I am thoroughly disenchanted with all politicians now after the dismal way Parliament dragged it’s feet over the referendum and other matters.
What is all this as bout paedophilia & sniffing. girls hair? Sounds rubbish to me. Is it based on fact or just rumour & propaganda?

May I suggest that this site doesn’t feature political polemic?
Surely there are other online outlets for those who want to express their partisan views, whether domestic or international?
But, but......we enjoy political polemic ? and partisan views.
Oh I apologise. You’ve only been a vociferous supporter for 6 years.
Exactly....but no more vociferous than your good self WW
I hope Bolsonaro, and Modi will fall too domino wise.
I do remember lemongrove supporting the Lib Dems.
Sadly they lost their way.
Yes, the West Country was always a stronghold for the Liberals and then the Lib Dems although there were always anomalies.
One example was Devonport, a natural Labour voting constituency one might have thought; for nearly 20 years they returned a Conservative MP, Dame Joan Vickers, (she was formerly a National Liberal), defeating Michael Foot on more than one occasion.
Biden,s rigged votes won the election he will be no friend of UK. If Trump is so bad how is it he won an Ellis Iland award and was photographed beside Mohamed Ali and Rosa Parks for his work with black youth.
Biden is puppet president he will be worked from the back he can’t remember anything. It’s going to be a rough ride
The end times are here, and the turkeys have voted for Christmas.

Riverwalk l completely agree with you. The presidency was wasted by Trump and he could have done so much for the US and the whole world. He is ignorant. Biden may not be everyone’s choice but at least it’s broken the Trump reign.
His presidency wasn't wasted- Every election victory is dependent upon the deficit or success of the last 4 year administration- Trump was elected upon the deficit of the Obama administration-
Biden chose a woman of color for VP- And if you (anyone) listened closely to their (Kamala/Joe) speeches last night, they were peppered with messages from the left, messages that neither of them embraced fully during the primary- Messages that they disagreed with each other about prior to last night's speeches-
Biden even mentioned the "new deal" ?-
It took a Trump administration and a global crisis for Biden to want to become a president of the people, and not just some people, but all people- But that is not the platform he ran on during the primary when he too was catering to specific groups -- much like Trump-
The biggest problem in the US isn't color- It's money- There's the magnates at the top and a chasm between them and the small percentage of "successfuls"- And the expanse between the successfuls and the rest of us is about 100,000 dollars-
The rest of us are working for shit wages and going into debt to pay for educations that no longer promise a job- Going into medical debt because healthcare isn't affordable, not even under the Affordable Care Act-
And then there's the housing gap- Good luck with that- Housing options perfectly reflect the money gap described above- Crime-ridden city life or middle of nowhere, expensive suburbs, wealthy communities- Getting out of the city to elsewhere other than the middle of nowhere, where the market, hospital and shopping is about a 30 minute drive or more, cost 100,000 dollars or more-
What will Joe do about this?

Different from Trump to be sure and in words as spoken in the film The Hunger Games, 'may the odds be ever in his favour'
I forgot to mention internet and cell service- Most of the U.S. doesn't have it! Trump promised it but didn't deliver-

Prove the election was rigged- That's all I ask- Produce evidence-

Why would you suggest this? Given the number of us who enjoy the political polemic may I suggest that you find a different site?

I think it is exactly the same issue in the U.K.
The vote is largely one of frustration and hope that the voter’s will be noticed by the politicians.
So Obama brought disappointment. The result was Trump.
We had years of austerity and the result was brexit and Johnson.
The argument now taking place in the USA now between the progressive left and the centralists is just the same as that taking place in the U.K.

Yes, that's the impression I get- Without living there myself, I can only rely on descriptions of what daily life in the UK is like- It sounds absolutely beautiful geographically but a struggle otherwise -- just like here-
Playing golf!! Up in Scotland????
rose poverty is a real and growing issue. Housing is a massive problem. We do have a health service at the moment that is universal, but it is undoubtedly under threat and apart from the fact that up until recently no politician would dare to touch it, the Tories starved it of funding and continue to Contract out services to the tune of billions of £s.
We have an Illiberal government that undermines the rule of law, and the institutions our democracy relies upon. It is a clone of the Trump government.
Trump's mind will now be on his own survival. He owes a great deal of money to some very bad people and he is now no longer of use to them. He will be facing numerous legal challenges without the money to pay for lawyers - not the least of which will be the divorce settlement with Melania. Many, many chickens are now coming home to roost.
Keep telling yourself that.
Sorry the last posting was directed to Crueser48
My DD in Wisconsin cried and opened a bottle of champagne when she heard the news. (It was her DH's birthday, so they had a double reason to celebrate.) She's hoping that the country, so torn now by fear and anger, will begin to rebuild itself. It won't be easy, as the divisions go so deep. The fact that the election was neck and neck, right up to the finish line, shows how the country is split in two. A bit like the UK over Brexit, in fact, but we are less likely to express our polarised views with assault rifles on the streets.
Biden and Harris are very conservative in their views, so I don't expect to see sweeping changes. (I am very amused by the allegations that they are radical leftists and the Democrats are secretly trying to introduce communism! If they were here, they would be moderate Tories.) However, they are a return to reason and sanity. Biden isn't going to call the neo-Nazis "good people" and "patriots" or tell the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by." He isn't going to have protesters tear gassed so he can be photographed at a church, holding a bible. He won't shirk his leadership role by blaming everything on China and sacking everyone who disagrees with him. He isn't a climate change denier.
He is going to have his work cut out, though, with a divided nation and a strong Republican presence in the Senate and the House of Representatives. I hope he brings in measures to start getting the virus under control. Where my DD lives, the infection rate is soaring and shows no sign of slowing down.
The time between now and Biden's inauguration in January is going to be tense. I hope it remains peaceful.
