And woman actually. I had almost forgotten about the Maxwell woman.
Please help! (grandchild being locked in bedroom)
Bereavement wipes out everything
Well, that was a farce.........
The Epstein/Prince Andrew saga has hit the news again.
As I read the article it talks about the girls being “ trafficked”.
I feel there is a big difference between these girls being transported in private jets of their own free will and the poor often underage girls who are tricked, drugged, broken and dumped in filthy brothels in a strange country to have sex with up to 12 men a day.
Should the term trafficked be used in the Epstein case?
And woman actually. I had almost forgotten about the Maxwell woman.
Victim blaming OP.
Trafficking is defined by various governments as the recruitment, transportation, exploitation of vulnerable individuals for forced labour or sexual exploitation. That fits what Maxwell and Epstein did. They identified, groomed, seduced and exploited.
Very similar to what happened to the girls involved in the grooming scandals in the UK.
they were drawn in by being promised a type of summer work on his resorts etc, learning to wait tables, do sports sessions and massage etc.
also that if they worked well, would get sponsorship for college fees etc.
on the face of it, it looked like a good opportunity.
Exactly welbeck. Many of them had very sad family histories, of course they did. Abusers recognise young people who they can easily seduce and manipulate. Someone will be suggesting next that the children drawn into county lines 'work' are making choices.
Oh goodness, I am agasht at whan I am reading on this thread.
Abused people, (men and women of all ages) often go willingly with thier abuser. Predators look for victims who are vunerable, promise them the world and then find themselves in a situation that they cant get themselves out of easily.
Would you all say the same thing about a woman who ended up in a marriage where she was physically abused? She went there willingly right? Yes she did. Because he was charming and lured her in with promises and married her, only for her to find herself in a situation that was hard to get out of. Did she deserve that too?
What I am reading here is skin to someone saying that a girl who was raped caused her rape by wearing her shirt to short.
Epstien was a pimp. Her girl friend was his madam. Those girls, no matter the age, are his victims. Even if he did not get paid, what he got was favors from high profile powerful men.
And for those of you saying that this wouldnt happen is not in the US due to those girls being 17? Here is the UN information of human trafficking. Age has nothing to do with it. I hope you educate yourselves so that in the future if run across a person who is being trafficked, you may be the person who saves them.

Oops, typo.
*if not in the US
Very well said freedomfromthepast and others who show a little more understanding of the situation.
The Netflix documentary Filthy Rich explains how young girls were drawn in to Epstein’s world. It tells of the home lives of some of the girls and how they may have been desperate to escape to what they were told would be a better life. It is naive and judgemental to say the least to think that every young girl has parents who care where they are and what they are doing. The documentary also shows how money can buy you a life of privilege and shield you from the consequences of your actions. The first time Epstein went to prison he was given special meals and allowed out to ‘his office’ during working hours every day. Whether they consented to what took place or not these girls were not to blame for what happened to them and neither were their parents, the blame lay with Epstein and those who aided and abetted him.
EllenVannin girls like this do not come from homes with loving responsible parents, they come from dysfunctional families, parents usually divorced if they ever married in the first place, a background of drugs and neglect.
freedom fromthepast Most of the people on this thread believe these girls were trafficked.
These girls were enticed by older people who had hidden agendas. They were transported for the sole purpose of sex. The relationship was never one of equals. Seems pretty clear to me.

Not necessarily, they could in fact be quite naive and taken in by the promise of a better life for their children.
Eazybee. “ Accusations of subsequent prostitution and worse are being made by the other side and every detail of her life is scrutinised and exposed. Prince Harry is a prime example of his mother's very public pursuit of vengeance; what effect will this case have on Guiffre's children?”.
I maybe being thick but what have Diana and Harry got to do with this ?
So Ms Guifre, has to accept that she was trafficked and abused and not seek any redress for her maltreatment, because it may harm her children.
Aren't they harmed already by the abuse and might they not benefit from knowing that no matter what happens to you, if you are strong enough then justice is possible?
Ms Guifre was on the streets age 13 when she left an abusive
home, she later returned to live with her father . He worked in
the hotel were she met Maxwell , he said he discussed her
being employed by Epstein,
I have doubts about this father.
I think 'trafficked' is appropriate in this case. These girls, from what I've read, weren't college graduates or from professional backgrounds, just average or even troubled families as in the case of Ms Guiffre.
They were also very young.
They were flown here and there with the promise of jobs as models etc. and encouraged/expected to have sex with various men.
It was hardly a joint venture between equals.

Did these girls live with parents/ guardians ? Did the parents/ guardians know where the girls were going ? If they were under 18 and presumed missing from home why didn't the parents/ guardians report the matter ? Most parents would.
Virginia Guiffre’s father drove her to her assignations. We hear very little about rich influential Americans being taken into custody but logistically they had more access.
PA has agreed to give a statement in the U.K. but the USA insists he goes there. I certainly wouldn’t. They made promises that they wouldn’t arrest or incarcerate the young autistic hacker but arrested him as soon as he got off the plane. He’s still there now but they are getting him to hack other countries for them.
PA’s reputation is in shreds anyway and not many would let their young daughters anywhere near him.
