Last night after feeling unwell.

Fingers crossed for him.

Reading the papers this morning, John Humphrys has written
a list of questions he would ask Harry and Megan if he were interviewing, so funny but definitely good questions

Those who pay for private health care free up NHS resources.

DIL’s paid for single rooms after delivering their babies in NHS hospital going towards NHS coffers

All of the nurses and all of the doctors employed in private health care are trained in the NHS. If you want private health care by all means have it but pay to train the staff, pay when something goes wrong and don't rely on NHS emergency services, and pay when the insurance money from something like BUPA runs out, don't rely on the NHS to provide services then. Most people couldn't afford it.

Yes I agree

nadateturbe Sat 20-Feb-21 08:35:52

I'm talking about the general point she is making.
But really it would be better as a separate thread.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 08:13:15

Wrong, I understand what was said, to go from a very wealthy man to homeless people is in my opinion - playing the homeless card.

There are people in towns, villages, living in terraced houses,
semmi’s , on council estates who suffered from childhoods , should these be told - your the lucky ones you haven’t ended up living on the streets.

nadateturbe Sat 20-Feb-21 07:50:03

Kalu I think your words fall on deaf ears.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 02:58:01

Using teenagers who are homeless is so wrong, what of the many who have comfortable homes , lose a parent, have a parent with mental illness ? you think they are lucky ?

Always that one playing card, the homeless

Kalu Fri 19-Feb-21 23:18:06

One example I can offer Annie. He was one of the lucky ones in the sense that, following on from his very sad childhood, he didn’t end up living on the streets compared to many children with no other option nor was he a victim of, child poverty. These are a few examples with which to compare how his life turned out as opposed to those less fortunate. A fact which having, is an aid to healing.

Bravo NellG but I am so very sorry you speak from pain and
grief x

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 22:12:49

But Kula you said Phillip was one of the lucky ones,

NellG Fri 19-Feb-21 22:11:47

Thank you for the kindness Kalu, and Annie - so sorry for the loss of your daughter too.

In all honesty having food, shelter and material comfort certainly didn't make the emotional pain harder - but in no way did it ease it. So the gross insensitivity of that comment and it's phrasing did need calling out. Throwing other people's painful experiences under the bus to score a point about privilege sets a low bar - and lets face it, most of us on here are mature enough to have had more than one painful experience in life so there are no excuses in 'I didn't know...' or 'it's nothing to me'. There is no palatable excuse for that level of fuckwittery, it's just trolling, plain and simple.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Feb-21 22:03:32

Heartache and loss can never be eased by money or privilege.

Kalu Fri 19-Feb-21 21:55:33

I would never say money eases emotional pain as from personal and others’ experience, I know all the money in the world means nothing compared to heartache.

NellG. ?

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:53:55

NellG, I so understand, nothing can ease my grief for my
darling daughter, nothing

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:52:00

Agree Kalu , the same should be said to those who say Phillip had a comfortable childhood without parents because
he was taken in by wealthy families

Kalu Fri 19-Feb-21 21:48:17

As neither you nor I personally know those people you have asked about Annie, we will never know the answers.

NellG Fri 19-Feb-21 21:45:31

Oh yes, I can absolutely vouch for the fact that a new car and a fillet steak totally obliterated the grief over my son's death - made it SO much more comfortable being able to sit and grieve on a quality sofa... Having money made emotional pain a walk in the park.

Sheesh!

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:40:59

Yes I did read what you said Galaxy , I cannot agree with you,

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:39:38

If money eases emotional pain why is Harry so troubled , why did Katherine Kent suffered a breakdown after the loss of two
babies and continue to suffer depression

Galaxy Fri 19-Feb-21 21:38:16

Did you read what I said.

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:34:40

So money eases bereavement, an unfaithful partner, so not true

Galaxy Fri 19-Feb-21 21:31:52

No but being poor and in emotional pain is harder than being rich in emotional pain.

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:29:45

Money does not ease emotional pain, I just don’t understand why many think it does

Kalu Fri 19-Feb-21 21:26:51

Well, money certainly talks and comes in very handy whenever one has the need to buy something.

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 21:14:55

Again money buys everything
