Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.

I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.

However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.

I won’t be watching, I don’t want to watch someone playing the victim. From the clips I’ve seen, I have to say, I didn’t realise she was such a good actress.

Daisymae Mon 08-Mar-21 09:33:40

She actually said that Kate made her cry!

Nanawind Mon 08-Mar-21 09:30:55

I'll record it and then cut out the adverts.

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 09:23:23

No, I will not watch , couldn’t stomach two hours of that doe eyed woman

Maggiemaybe Mon 08-Mar-21 09:17:01

I had thought I might watch, but two hours, half of it adverts, when we’ve got the gist already and some titbits have been held back for a second attack? No thanks. And it’ll be impossible to avoid the hoo-haa about it for weeks to come anyway. The couple’s celebrity friends and supporters are already out there jostling for their few minutes of the after-show publicity.

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 09:13:56

No doubt discussion about the palace worries over Archie's skin colour before he was born?

I'm surprised they didn't pick up and lease before the birth. That would have done it, for me.

tickingbird Mon 08-Mar-21 09:11:59

Isn’t it telling that Harry stated he was unhappy and wanted out BUT didn’t realise this until meeting Meghan?

I hope he hasn’t gone too far as I fear he may need his birth family in the future.

Shropshirelass Mon 08-Mar-21 09:02:25

Yes probably. But don’t forget Meghan is an actress and will play the part.

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 09:00:47

We had an announcement that there wouldn’t be an announcement and now we learn we watched a wedding which wasn’t a wedding .

Nanof3 Mon 08-Mar-21 08:58:28

We always knew Meghan was an actress but this seems to have been a very well rehearsed performance almost worthy of an Oscar, with Harry as the supporting cast.

Mollygo Mon 08-Mar-21 08:57:47

Calendargirl how can you not imagine the hoo ha about where and when the baby will be born!
IMO it will all be carefully stage-managed, to get the greatest publicity (whilst reiterating their desire to avoid high profile public life).
More stories of being ignored by the grandparents causing further trauma, and further damaging their already precarious mental health etc. etc.
Not for nothing was MM an actress.
If this was a drama on tv it would be about a younger son playing out his resentment about being in second place, urged on by his wife who wants more limelight for herself.
I thought Harry’s marriage would give him some well deserved happiness. I doubt it has.

Peasblossom Mon 08-Mar-21 08:56:32

You mean we didn’t need to pay all that money after all?

So who wanted the big wedding? The Queens other grandchildren have had less expensive, less published weddings.

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 08:56:21

Justin Welby is a disgrace, he carried out a renewal of wedding
vows three days after the marriage and allowed the world to think they were seeing a marriage service.

Sarnia Mon 08-Mar-21 08:54:39

I won't be watching it because it is pretty clear what will be said by Harry & Meghan. She will go on about the shortcomings of the Royal Family, being a woman of colour, her wedding day, her relationship with Kate, anything pretty much which paints her as a victim. Poor besotted Harry will trot out the same script when he gets a change to get a word in edgeways. The bottom line is they will always feel they have been unfairly treated in this country. For a couple who fiercely protect their privacy, they really love to air their dirty linen in public. I hope after this interview the Queen will strip them of any remaining perks of being a Royal because they clearly don't want any of it. I would like to see her remove Harry from any likelihood he could become King too. I wish them well but for me I have heard and seen enough of these two to last a lifetime.

Have seen that Meghan says she and Harry were married ‘in a simple ceremony three days before the wedding’, the main wedding was ‘for the world’.

I will be interested to hear her speak about that. Did Justin Welby come to KP and perform a quickie wedding?

hmm

Yes apparently

I can't understand how this was done.

Witnesses? Two are required.

If Justin did two weddings, which was legal? Did he act legally?

It will be very easily proven whether it happened or not. The Register Office will hold both and they are public records so I'm sure there are journalists feverishly phoning up GRO to get certificates.

Maybe they had a little rehearsal in the garden but a wedding? I don't know if I can believe that.

Kandinsky Mon 08-Mar-21 08:53:50

I feel so sorry for the royal family.
Fair enough to run away from it all, but to then stick the knife in so very deeply is just spiteful.
You know what you’re letting yourself in for marrying into royalty.
She’d just be another nobody if it wasn’t for them.

Curlywhirly Mon 08-Mar-21 08:51:51

But they weren't married 3 days before their official wedding! Megan said it was just the 3 of them: her, Harry and the Archbishop, that's not a wedding - there has to be witnesses for it to be legal, so it sounds like it was more if a rehearsal!

The media have given us highlights but I initially the answers I would like to hear are:

Harry and Meghan

1. They were married three days before their state wedding
Because they wanted it to be a personal occasion. If so
why did they agree to the large wedding?

2. If Meghan needed help as she was feeling suicidal, why, if
It was not forthcoming from from Palace Sources, did
Harry not arrange for her to get help himself? It is well
Documented that he had received professional help.

3. Princess Anne, declined titles for her children, without
Too much trouble what is so different about Archie?

To the Palace

1. Why, after their experience with Diana was Meghan not
given more support?

2. Why do officials in the Royal Household have so much
Power?

3. Who knew that the Sussexes were already married
Three days ahead I their official wedding.

Urmstongran

Seems wherever she goes there’s a drama. And she’s a victim.

I have to agree with you Urmstongran I'm sure there were difficulties when Meghan joined the Royal Family but this constant portrayal of being a victim is wearing.

Calendargirl Mon 08-Mar-21 08:38:25

Diana’s Granddaughter

She already has a granddaughter, Charlotte, so not as if she will be the first GD in the family.

Another first, the Royals don’t usually divulge the sex of an unborn baby. I don’t imagine there will be quite so much of a hoo ha about where this one will be born, home or hospital.

Urmstongran Mon 08-Mar-21 08:34:06

Remember she had all the flowers of the Commonwealth stitched onto her wedding dress? That endeared her to us. Remember Charles walked her down the aisle? Lovely touch and very welcoming into the family. I think at the time I just thought she was a breath of fresh air.

I just wish they’d keep a low profile now. I’m sure (understandably) Harry’s mental health is fragile. They made a choice to leave us. It would be nice if they got on with their chosen way of life - they left the gilded cage. Lucky them in this life with all their advantages. Now smile and enjoy it all!

I must add that I do feel sorry for Meghan.
And I don't know how she manages to put up with Harry. He seems a gormless fool. He must drive her mad.

I wouldn’t go quite that far but he is not the brightest spark and has been manipulate from day one.
She had an agenda from the start

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 08:28:56

Yes Nezumi65 and sadly continues past childhood
