Prince Philip has died

At least he slipped away peacefully at home. Poor Queen. I'm sure the family will rally round.

Sad news for the Queen.

Well, I did wonder when he looked so unwell in the car coming home the other day.
I'm sorry to hear this all the same.

I have just heard this news too ? Such a sad day for the Queen.

I wondered when he was released from hospital if it was just to die at home. He's lucky many don't get that. RIP.

I'm very sorry to hear this ,but it wasn't unexpected was it, he went through a lot in hospital, but there was only so much that could be done i expect at almost 100 years old

Sad news for the Queen and her family.. She made no secret of the fact that he was her rock. RIP.

These things affect you more as you get older, especially when you've lived through their wedding, the death of King George VI and then the Coronation. After that the births of their children.

So sad, but not totally unexpected. There's no questioning his devotion to his wife and family who will miss him terribly.

A lot of people forget that he was a royal in his own right and served his country well.

Rest in peace Your Royal Highness, you did your duty to the end.

I feel surprisingly sad - it really does feel like the beginning of the end of an era.

Such sad news, let's face it he has been a stable focus for virtually all our lives. The Queen has described him as 'her strength and stay all these years' and I do fear what this will do to her. I remember how small and vulnerable she looked walking down the aisle of Westminster Abbey without him when he was taken ill after her Jubilee celebrations.

RIP D of E I was really hoping he would make 100.

Sad news although not unexpected. I think we'll all miss him particularly the Queen, after 73 years of marriage he was always at her side.

End of an era. I feel quite sad.

A long and varied life. Still very sad for the Queen regardless of age, at least he was at home. RIP.
