What a choice comment! Such consideration for a fellow human being.

For goodness sake, probably just an off the cuff comment. I found it quite amusing but some have had a humor bypass on here.

I have a well developed sense of humour, but I find that comment offensive. “Off the cuff” comments can often contain inappropriateness. Or, is it ok, for instance, to say about someone, “ Oh, he’s just a bit daft”?

I'm surprised to see that Oprah has said she was surprised that M "went there" during the so called interview when M talked about a member of the RF talking about Archie's skin colour.

Is she trying to distance herself from the fall out perhaps.

I didn't watch the interview but have seen several times the clip where her 'jaw dropped' in shock/surprise but it didn't convince me that she didn't know what was going to be said.

She's a good actress and TBH IMO at that particular moment her acting skills let her down badly.

It was wasn't it Annie which is what makes me think Oprah is trying to distance herself from it. Apparently she's said she wasn't expecting the interview to create the reaction it did.

Smileless I agree about Oprah’s acting skills. I was assured by many on here of how good an actress she was previous to ‘the interview.’ I only saw snippets of it but I did see her ‘acting’ when she expressed surprise about the question about Archie’s skin colour. If she has now said she was surprised that the colour of skin issue was discussed, then I find that difficult to believe, as I find it equally difficult to believe that the questions to be asked weren’t discussed beforehand, as they are in all interviews of this kind. Yes, possibly Oprah is trying to row back, the flack from this interview can’t have done her reputation much good at all.

Oh yes, Oprah feigning surprise shows us that she should never take up an acting role, whereas MM is a better actor than we thought.

No Oprah wasn't in Groundhog Day suziewoozie. She was brilliant in 'The Colour Purple' maddyone and I've wondered if her reputation as America's most sort after interviewer has been tarnished.

From the clips I saw I didn't think MM was much of an actor either lemongrove.
