Wills and Harry rift blown out of proportion

I've thought all along that the so-called "feud" between the brothers has been exaggerated by the media. Brothers fall out as anyone with sons will tell you. Usually they make it up and everything is forgotten, but with Harry leaving the country and the press delighting in nasty gossip, a small disagreement has grown into all out war.
At least one reporter thinks as I do.

Summerlove

Ellianne

He came back for his grandfather's funeral. He'll probably come back for the unveiling of the statue to his mother.
I think you misunderstand Alegrias. Its not just the one isolated event (the funeral) we are talking about but the ramifications for many future trips for years to come. And as was also pointed out the environmental issues as Greta was keen to fight for and the Sussexs seemed to agree with.

...so he should never come see his family?

The problem is that he has been lecturing the rest of us about green issues and then does the opposite himself! As does Meghan, a trip to NYC for baby shower for example, using private jets etc.etc.

My thoughts too merlotgran. There was nothing reported here about how many times H met with his GM, we find out from the co author of 'Finding Freedom' the day after H returns to America.

So H has unwavering love and support for his GMhmmpity it wasn't unwavering enough to prevent him from taking part in that 'interview' isn't it.

Every other year perhaps? As many people have to do.

He chose to go .....

Galaxy Wed 21-Apr-21 21:28:59

Eh? If you choose to leave your country of origin there is some rule that you can only come back every other year. Who decided that? it will be a surprise to those who move abroad I am sure.

Anniebach Wed 21-Apr-21 21:38:56

Harry is a hypocrite , not one newspaper here spoke of any meeting between the members of the families, Charles was photographed walking with the Queen, Edward and Sophie were filmed going into Windsor and with their daughter looking at the flowers.

Harry goes back to America and we read he spoke to the Queen three times.

There will be more to come.

It's not a rule - of course if you are a multi-millionaire you can fly all over the planet whenever you choose, polluting as you go!! Lecturing the rest of us how to save the environment at the same tine [ smile]

Some of us cannot afford to do so or perhaps are more aware of our carbon footprints.

Callistemon Wed 21-Apr-21 21:58:46

As many people have to do.

One rule for Henry, another for the plebs.

Galaxy Wed 21-Apr-21 22:12:24

Well if we are talking about those of us who can't afford to do things then that comparison applies to the whole royal family. After all I cant afford to live in a palace so is it one rule for them and another for the plebs.

Sorry but yes both the Times and I believe the Sun said he’d met with Charles and William.

Sorry but yes both the Times and I believe the Sun said he’d met with Charles and William.
I hope
a) it was outside in a garden ........ although the wind might have carried the conversation
b) that that Scoobie Doo guy wasn't hiding in a bush
c) Harry had done his however many days quarantining

Lucca Thu 22-Apr-21 07:22:30

A. Given the lovely weather I d think so !
B. I don’t even know who he is!
C. I think the quarantining was mentioned, yes.

Ellianne Thu 22-Apr-21 07:25:42

I don’t even know who he is!
Sorry, it's the nickname used for the guy merlotgran mentioned. Omid Scobie or someone, the mouthpiece for the Sussexs.

Elegran Thu 22-Apr-21 07:30:25

It is strange how the media seems to know what the RF do and the contents of the private letters they receive even before they do.

Elegran

It is strange how the media seems to know what the RF do and the contents of the private letters they receive even before they do.

As do some GN members seemingly!!

Elegran Thu 22-Apr-21 08:03:40

There are a lot of psychics online.

maddyone Thu 22-Apr-21 09:53:58

Omid Scobie has been repeatedly mentioned as a ‘source’ of leaks of information about the Sussexes. Other sources of leaks about the RF include ‘friends’ of the Duchess of Sussex and ‘palace sources.’ I’m fed up with it all. I wish all of them would stop leaking so called information from this side of the Atlantic or the other side. Who knows if any of this stuff is true or not, and in any case, why does Omid Scobie and the rest of them think we’re interested? Given the number of leaks from Omid Scobie, I wonder who’s paying him?

Callistemon Thu 22-Apr-21 10:01:23

Omid Scobie is someone who writes for a glossy magazine about the Royal family.

He and his type in the media are part of the problem.
They have turned the Royal Family into celebrities which is not what we require.
Too much ridiculous information.

Galaxy Thu 22-Apr-21 10:04:15

But that's what it is a soap opera. Has been for a long time. Supply and demand.

maddyone Thu 22-Apr-21 12:46:47

But who’s demanding it Galaxy? Do most of us care whether Meghan sent a hand written note to be put on the Sussex’s wreath? If it’s even true, why does this sort of information get published? It’s neither interesting nor relevant. Is Omid Scobie trying to make a point? Does he write for an American or British magazine?

Callistemon Thu 22-Apr-21 12:51:22

Harper's Bazaar?
I have no idea, never read it.

Supply and demand
But who’s demanding it Galaxy?
Not the majority

Galaxy Thu 22-Apr-21 12:57:58

The people who read it. From what I can see it's how most interact with the RF, lots of threads on here about their private life, family etc.

Namsnanny Thu 22-Apr-21 13:02:27

You've put your finger on it there maddyone.
It's clear for all to see who is playing the press and to what end.
You dont employ the top PR company to sit there and do nothing!
OS is the public face, the fall guy, if you like.

It's for one reason only, to eventually be 'king and queen'of USA. (substitute President/Oprah, what ever the top job is)

trisher Thu 22-Apr-21 13:33:14

It's obvious from the threads about this on GN that the media are on to a winning subject whatever side they represent. Personally I couldn't care less if I never heard of any of them again, but the great soap opera of the RF and its associates will continue to attract some people. Goodness knows why.

Ellianne Thu 22-Apr-21 14:06:59

I think trisher you're wrong to assume that maddy, calli, nams, smiley, merl, stewie and elli etc etc all sit there voraciously reading M & H stories. I can't speak for others of course but the subject doesn't whet my appetite or attract me in a big way any longer. The problem is I can't escape it whatever paper I read. There is no one less greedy for frivolous news than my DH yet he makes the occasional, irritated comment, because he is sick of it all.

lemongrove Thu 22-Apr-21 14:11:32

I thought Omid Scobie was an alternative comedian ( maybe he is)?
I agree Elliane we don’t need to go out of our way to read this stuff, it’s just there!
