Mr Johnson and Mr Cummings

Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.

I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?

MaizieD I was brought up to understand using she instead of a persons name is somewhat rude

And I was brought up to tell the truth, pity that Johnson wasn't eh? Urm, I think you need to have a bit of a lie down, anyone who thinks the BBC is a socialist conspiracy as you evidently do, hasn't listened to the recent criticism of the BBC and Laura Kuennsberg in particular, being known as the Brexit Broadcasting Company and conveniently relegating news items which are potentially critical of Johnson to the 'and in other news' area. This conflict of interpretation could mean that (a) the BBC are impartial as they should be or (b) even they can no longer ignore the elephant in the room ie Johnson's corruption and lies.

What on earth has any of this got to do with the the OP?

Essex is a Tory county with Tory MPs, a Tory council and mainly Tory district councils. Does anybody honestly think these Tories care any more about the "red wall" than London and city-based Labour does?

suziewoozie I do know what you mean?

If it is meaningless why is the phrase millionaire used with disdain when referring to any Conservative whether they be an MP, party member or a voter?

I must confess that when I think of millionaires I never think of the value of their primary residence or even their pension fund. I think instead of people who have additional assets worth millions and for whom going out to work is an optional extra.

What is wrong with being a millionaire? Most socialists I know don't want everyone to be the same, but for everyone to be given equal chances, and for millionaires, billionaires and all- to pay fair taxes to support those in need.

I wouldn't let it worry you, Kali2, she's just tossing in a dead cat. It isn't illegal and it doesn't preclude one from being a socialist.

But I can never understand what the attraction of billionaire tories is...

Sunak married into a billionaire family. His mother worked for the NHS as a pharmacist.

His mother had her own pharmacy business and his father was a GP. RS went to Winchester.

Millionaires are two a penny these days.

Billionaires aren't... A few might have had working class origins but most are middle class +. But they apparently are the people who understand the working classes better than anyone else..

suziewoozie all your net assets are included, including primary residence.

Then especially in the SE it’s meaningless really isn’t it ?

You do know that Jeremy Corbyn is a millionaire as is Kier Starmer along with many Labour MPs.

It is not illegal to be a millionaire in the UK, or have they changed the law?

I think that’s when you include his house. I think real millionaires do not have to include their primary residences - if not, then me too.

Does having a pharmacist mother make you a 'man of the people', then, Ug? Sounds at least a bit middle class elitist to me...

^Just publish the truth. Could have been done today.^

Goodness, that made me laugh, WWmk2.

If Johnson were to publish the truth nobody would believe him? ? ?

?????

It does take guts Kali. At present it’s gossip. Let’s wait a while & see the proof.

MayBee70 Mon 26-Apr-21 14:38:02

Yes. It’ll be interesting to see how he manages to pull that one off.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 14:37:57

I can’t see Murdoch supporting Sunak tbh.

MaizieD Mon 26-Apr-21 14:36:16

It isn’t the BBC who decides who is going to run the country. It’s Murdoch.

Will Murdoch manage to convince tory party members that Gove is the man to elect as the next party leader, though? He does have that little hurdle to jump.

My money is on billionaire Man of the People, Rishi.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 14:33:34

Johnson is moving heaven and hell to ensure the facts don’t come out though isn’t he?

It is all so simple if Cummings is lying.

Just publish the truth. Could have been done today.

Kali2 Mon 26-Apr-21 14:32:14

I have to take my hat off to the two people who still have the guts to stick up for Johnson. It really takes some courage in the circumstances- I just do no know how they can't see right through him.

Quite incredible.
