Not many Welsh voters here but for the few

Which way will Wales vote ?

Poppyred

Isn’t it sad the poorest areas in Wales still vote Labour in time and time again..... with NOTHING ever getting any better.

A poster is asking about this on another thread Anniebach (am I allowed to mention that?).

You might be better placed than me to answer as I'm an incomer (only 30+ years). grin

Callistemon not at all, I am not a newcomer to Wales, never left except for walking holidays in Yorkshire and Scotland ?,

Grew up hearing miners talking, talking, talking politics ?

As did my father, we were captive at the dinner table ?.
I also knew Welsh miners (part of the wider family) who had relocated to work in the Midlands

Callistemon captive at the dinner table, after Chapel, even when on the swings on lampposts there would be a group standing on the pavements .

We had an election in school in the juniors, I helped write the
ballot papers - two names , Labour - Churchill ?

My family came from the Welsh mining valleys so I understand why the Labour movement was important then.....but times have changed but I suppose people have very long memories........

Anniebach Sat 08-May-21 18:32:25

Very long memories and there is the England / Wales history

I don’t think it’s just long memories Poppyred, people trust Mark Drakeford because he tells the truth even when it’s bad- the increased majority and vote share demonstrates that.
