Good heavens, I need ID to collect shopping at Click & Collect so why on earth should I be allowed to vote without it?

Because Click and Collect is not a basic human right?

One of the things you need proof of ID for?

Whitewavemark2 Tue 11-May-21 17:18:36

Voter fraud

Boris Johnson did lie to the Queen when he illegally prorogued parliament - so much for his oath, but then as someone said at the time, "he has lied to every other woman in his life, so why should we be surprised if he lies to the Queen?"

I only watched the pageantry bit up until the Queen started speaking because I had to go and prepare lunch. And I knew I could catch up on the content later.

Irrespective of the content, is all this posing about in lace and ermine really the way to run a country?

No of course not.

And polititions have to swear allegiance to the queen Not our country or its people or democracy

Why should they have to do that they might feel that they do so they would be lying.

Johnson speech.

Liar!

“I am announcing now – on the steps of Downing Street – that we will fix the crisis in social care once and for all with a clear plan we have prepared”

Even the devolved governments in Wales and Scotland are more democratically elected than the UK government.

Priti Patel has said she wants all elections to be FPTP - so another nail in the UK's coffin.

It is just appalling - how can the UK be called Democratic anymore? The right to protest was so so deeply ingrained into our very British fibre.

We need to stop pretending that the UK is democratic. We are ruled by a minority. As far as I know we are now the only undemocratic country in Europe. All the others use some form of democratic proportional voting system.

oh but everyone has a Driving Licence, don't they !!! (not)

If that is what is being said than the ignorance is astounding

I think that we can safely assume that the introduction of IDs is nothing to do with voter fraud.

Election Maps UK
@ElectionMapsUK
At the 2019 General Election, out of 47,587,254 people voting, there was only 1 conviction of voter fraud (+0 cautions).

That represents 0.0000021014% of votes.

Unless the IDs are free they will become a privilege for the poor.

If you can’t afford food you can’t afford an ID

No bill for an overhaul of the social services as Hancock had promised.

Symonds has managed to get an animal sentience pledge in the bill I see.

Judicial review - Johnson hates to be told that he has broken the law, so he is going to change the ability of the judiciary to hold the government to account. The rule of law is being weakened.

Police bill- 10 years if you protest with noise. So silent protest only in future. I hope there is a massive silent protest against this bill. This is something that I would protest about.

This government likes taking our freedom away doesn’t it?
