Anyone watching this now? He really does talk the talk doesn’t he. Has just stated that no health worker has died due to lack of PPE. At least Sarah Owen is now giving him a good grilling.

I am pleased Sajid Javid has been appointed. Matt Hancock made the right decision. However, he should not have been allowed to make the decision. I fully realise my comment will anger a certain few on here. This is my opinion. I am not insulting anyone who does not agree.

I think it is disgusting how they seem to ignore what Kate Bingham achieved. Also the NHS and the volunteers not to mention the scientists but it is all how wonderful MH and the govt have been. If they had the slightest decency they would point out that many many people deserve more praise than they do.

Well your first sentence is a good clue. Javid has had a number of government appointments and he has not excelled in a single one of them. We need someone of better quality than that

Not often we agree WwMk2 but what niggles me most is the sheer incompetence we are seeing, closely followed by the ineptitude of these third-rate nonentities.
Never mind the politics (well, we do) but they couldn’t run a bath.

They can’t all take the credit for the vaccination roll-out can they?
Especially as it largely achieved by Kate Bingham - not a government minister in sight

OnwardandUpward Sun 27-Jun-21 08:56:25

Well maybe he mentioned the vaccination programme twice because of his conduct. I mean, there are a whole range of nutters who don't think covid is even real- and his ;latest conduct will have had them all saying "told you it wasnt even real. The government know its not real"

Just reading - something I’d forgotten - that Javid was appointed as senior paid advisor at JP Morgan last year.

JPMorgan are big in private health.

It seems that all the ducks are in a row just need Dido and it’s complete .

Health insurance anyone?

Daisymae Sun 27-Jun-21 07:53:20

It seems that the only experience necessary is to back the PM.

There is nothing to suggest that he knows anything about health. Hunt would have been the better appointment.

He backs austerity and privatisation.

The last line of Johnson's acceptance letter says that he believes that Hancock's public service is far from over. He'll be back ...........

Lucca Sun 27-Jun-21 07:38:21

I just watched Hancock resignation video. Can’t believe that he chose to mention the vaccination programme twice when this was supposed to be about his misconduct,

Yes maw I agree about Hunt.

Apparently Javid is friends with Carrie, and she has been keen to get him back into the cabinet.

The NHS will not be served well by Javid.

I’m not disagreeing but know nothing about Javid, why do you say he will not be good for the NHS ?

It must be horrendous for Martha to have the breakup all over the papers and TV from the moment she knew about it. She is brave to go out and cope with journalists etc.

MawBe Sun 27-Jun-21 05:05:44

I would have been happier to see Jeremy Hunt reinstated at Health. He may have been unpopular with the NHS but his comments throughout the pandemic and in particular leading the Commons enquiry into the supply (or lack) of PPI showed that he has a “handle” on Health matters, plus a keen brain and does not waffle.
But as he is not one of BoJo’s Brexit boys, his “turn” is not alas yet to come.
How many other highly competent MPs are there on the back benches I wonder?

mokryna Sun 27-Jun-21 02:30:31

Papers are reporting that he could be given a possible payout of £16,876.

vegansrock Sun 27-Jun-21 02:21:42

I hope his wife takes him to the cleaners…

OnwardandUpward Sat 26-Jun-21 22:32:24

So sorry for his wife, kids and parents! What a selfish , thoughtless idiot. No idea who the woman was but I also feel sorry for her relations.

Chewbacca Sat 26-Jun-21 22:16:39

Did anyone else think that his face looked completely expressionless when he was making his resignation speech? He looked like he was drugged up to the eyeballs. I feel dreadfully sorry that 2 families have been left reeling, and their lives in tatters, because of Hancock and squeeze.

OnwardandUpward Sat 26-Jun-21 22:00:36

I feel sorry for his parents. Mrs H if youre on Gransnet, big hugs and really sorry you're going through this flowers

OnwardandUpward Sat 26-Jun-21 21:59:37

What a shit!!!

Well, I think Gransnet can run the country better.

What with Bozza getting married to seem all respectable before the leaders at the G7, its got to be a big embarassment what MH has done. Whatever will the Bidens be thinking?! And all the rest of the world!

Gossamerbeynon1945 Sat 26-Jun-21 21:57:13

Horrible man. Feel so sorry for his wife and children.

MayBee70 Sat 26-Jun-21 21:54:53

This government is like an episode of Versailles. Or Game of Thrones….

Shinamae Sat 26-Jun-21 21:50:14

Despicable man

muffinthemoo Sat 26-Jun-21 21:47:03

The Sun is reporting he woke his eight year old up the night his affair was revealed to tell him he was leaving his mum…!

Wowzers

OnwardandUpward Sat 26-Jun-21 21:44:59

Ahhhh the plot thickens..... (!!!)
